News reports say he died of a heart attack. He had a number of medical and social issues over many years so might not have been in the best of health anyway.A week or so ago it was reported he had corova virus. Any one know if it was that or some thing else. Yes a great footballer with many tricks.
I'm not a great golf fan but over the years I have watched it on the telly from time to time and Peter Alliss was certainly knowledgeable and amusing. A contemporary of his and a broadcaster and tv commentator and cricket expert (as befits a former Australian captain) of similar great longevity was Richie Benaud, also sadly no longer with us. I regard Richie Benaud as one of the greatest ever media sports communicators, certainly of the spoken word.Another sad passing, Peter Alliss the wonderful golf commentator. I could only watch golf if he was talking me through the game. All the good ones are gone, CMJ in cricket was another commentator who knew what he was talking about unlike many in football!
Chuck Yeager, he who cracked the sound barrier passed and was brave enough to tackle the problem when it was thought impossible.
