Is there such ting as bed press?!?!

I replied to this in the comments section I personally think its a genius commercial decision...

Option 1 - Get the ticket for the lowest price. If you want the cheapest ticket to the states then they are available. £220 RTN to NYC/BOS. If that's the priority then great, squeeze your stuff into 10kg of hand luggage, go to boots and get a £4 meal-deal! sorted!

Option 2 - You want all the services you come to expect with Long0haul travel. Then great, opt for the comfort package where for £50 a flight or £100 RTN, you get Meals, Baggage and Seat Allocation included. still a pretty good price but not as low as it could be.

There is simply no reason for people to pay £60 for a meal! primera are just benefitting from the people that don't realize this!

Absolute common sense nwoody2001 but for some reason many people's common sense (assuming they've got any) goes out the window when they encounter something like this.

It's the same with airport drop-off car park fees. Because of the way that many regional airports operate they have to find revenue from ancillary sources if the low-cost airlines are to operate from these airports bringing relatively low fares to the passengers. So the airport charges a quid or two to drop off passengers and the end of the world is nigh according to some. Yet if the drop-off was free and a couple of quid was added to the price of the air fare most wouldn't even notice, still less complain.

I fear the same principle might apply here with some passengers. Just read the WOW reviews on Skytrax and, apart from the airline's unreliability in terms of operating on time, the overwhelming complaint from passengers is the requirement to have to pay for everything on board. Yet they knew this when they booked.

We all know that the uptake on the offer will be virtually nil.
It's just the poor press coverage it could potentially give, when they are going to need all the help they can get for it to succeed.

Interestingly also, look at the prices of the primera flights, especially out of Birmingham to NYC, it would appear many of the £149 fares have gone. sold out of the cheapest fares already?

Was it Oscar Wilde who said 'There is only one thing in life worse than being talked about, that is not being talked about?'

No problem! We just bring food onto the plane where in flight meals are charged for.

We do too. A meal at the airport then stock up on snacks needed for the length of the journey :)

We fly with Thomson in a week or two from BHX, and let me tell you, boots will be doing a roaring trade out of us 4 :)

There is a 6 in the morning, and for some it is very nearly lunchtime....

Is there a 6 in the morning?

I hope so,it's when I finish my shift!!!

Back to Primera Air with a question.
If the airline is basing aircraft at BHX,does that mean they will be taking on local cabin/flight crews.
I have not seen anything mentioned, but I was asked by a colleague if new jobs would be created at the new bases.I would imagine with this expansion new staff would be needed, but where would they come from?

I've visited the Primera Air mobile website to check up on flight dates/times but when I click on the "See Dates" label I'm only getting an error message saying "This page has expired".

Anyone else had the same problem?

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
