I made the point about easyJet's 319s (having 4 instead of 3 flight attendants because of 6 extra seats) because in an earlier post in this thread it was pointed out that Primera would have 198 seats in its A320neos and the comment was made that it was 'Similar to Ryanair’s ruse of carrying under 200 pax means one less flight attendant per leg'.
Apologies TLY, typo.

any idea of when this could be announced? Primera have 8x 321neo on order according to wiki with an additional 2x 321neoLR due on lease according to wiki. this is 10 a/c in total and only 6 accounted for so far. interestingly they also have a load of 737-Max9(ER) on order so interesting to see where they go...

How are this for teasers then?

From various articles I've read about YYZ.

Primera Air says it is planning further expansion over the next two years with more transatlantic flights from its European bases in the pipeline. The carrier has recently placed an order for 20 Boeing Max9-ER planes.

And this translated from Icelandic.

The origin of Icelandic society already announced new routes from London Stansted and Birmingham to Newark and Boston. More new routes are in the pipeline.

This is also good news. Primera Air have recently held a roadshow with Monarch employees to find out about opportunities at there new BHX base.

I know they will only have x 2 aircraft based to start with but it would be great if these flights had ex Monarch crew from the Midlands. Nothing against having staff from Scandinavia but if Primera are serious about BHX, this would be a lovely gesture.

Good stuff Primera Air (y)

It makes sense as they are already Airbus trained while Primera crew would primarily be Boeing trained.

Translated from Latvian.

The "PrimeraAir" based in Latvia has already opened three new bases in Europe and will start intercontinental flights to North America next year.

New bases opened in London, Paris and Birmingham to begin flights to New York and Boston in April 2018. At the end of summer, plans to open two more transatlantic destinations.

In the next two years, PrimeraAir plans to further expand the destination network thanks to the 20 new Boeing MAX 9 aircraft. '

Some info about the seats that have been chosen and more importantly the aircraft that are due to be delivered.

“Enter Air,” McInnes says, “have signed up for their 737 MAX 8s. They’ll take Series 6 delivering, but they’ll take the aircraft bare and do a post delivery modification. Primera, who are going to take A321s, will also take that on their 737 MAX 9, and Primera is launch customer for Series 7,” Acro’s narrowbody business, widebody premium economy product. They’ll deliver the aircraft line fit with the full LOPA Series 6, and in a post delivery mod, Series 7 will go on.”

In terms of Primera, McInnes notes, “I think they’ve got eight A321s delivering this year. Then they’ve got eight 737s delivering next year, as well as a further quantity of A321s. They’re gonna do a split, so they’re the launch customer for 737 MAX 9 LR.”

Primera at a local event educating travel agents about their new routes. Lets hope that the same travel agents support them and not direct their customers down the M40.

Great to see Ray. Primera really do mean business, lets hope the public support these new routes.

They could be cheeky and put some adverts around northern cities too.

Ive messaged Primera though regarding a point nwoody2001 highlighted the other day. When you go on flight websites such as Skyscanner it comes up with Hahn Air and sometimes Primera Air, this is too confusing for the general public and wont help them with sales. Primera Air are new to the UK, lets not complicate things even more. It will be interesting to see what they have to say. I think Jerry mentioned Hahn Air is some ticketing agent for them, but still the UK public wont wanna book with somebody called Hahn Air ??????

But if they do start Manchester flights this could serously destroy the Birmingham series.

I'd be surprised if they looked at Manchester for long haul considering it has a lot of competition on that. If you look at the bases they chose neither has direct competition. If they do expand in the UK then they may be more likely to look at airports like NCL, LBA, LPL, CWL and BRS. Maybe they would look at GLA as well as the competition there is mainly narrow body and mainline so they may feel they could offer something different.

Primera have no plans to serve Manchester
Good. Manchester has enough successful TATL activity. They can leave some for us to enjoy.:sneaky: However the idea of advertising up there will make sense of they struggle in the immediate catchment...always a sign of a problem when you advertise too widely. Don't want the investors to see that the market you thought you had is not there!

I booked Primera a couple of days ago from YYZ To BHX and return for September 2018, and found the prices to be the best option out there. In the past I have flown AirTransat to Manchester, but as my end destination is Leeds, I have no alegience to Manchester or AirTransat. I hope that Primera operate into LBA eventually, but that is just wishful thinking, so for now I will use the Primera and BHX as long as the keep the fares competitive.

Primera won't touch Manchester due to the competition. Neither party needs each other, especially with the red nosed brigade re-submitting slots for SWF, BDL and PVD, it's going to be crowded enough as it is.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
