better than Sunderland.Without more info.you will not be aware both are in the S**t.
I have no idea how well Primera are doing and i hope they are selling lots of seats.

Am I talking a different language here ?
My point is when you go into the Primera booking engine on nearly all the day BHX has flights to YYZ there are more seats reserved ex BHX than on the same days from STN and CDG
So very encouraging for BHX.
And I am sure BOS would have been ok if they hadnt pulleed it so early !
I still think it was a late delivery of aircraft issue rather than bookings.

Seat reservations mean nothing. They could be block booked for a tour operator, or blocked for Weight & Balance if loads are low. It could even be that more people booked from BHX have chosen to reserve their seat, whereas STN passengers haven't, and the booked figures are actually the same.

Well you can tell by the seat layout:

- they are not weight balanced due to the spread

- They are unlikely to be block booking for tour operators as a) they aren’t in a literal block and b) even if they are, why does it mater who bought them, they are being sold

- but the final point is true in so far as there is no requiremt to reserve seats on booking.

However, regardless of the point, the same applies to both BHX and STN flights. And as such, the fact that BHX has more reserves seating is still a pretty good sign!!!

Mmmmm there's no doubt about it, this new airline really does stir the emotions here in Brum. We are already up to page 46 with Primera -- and we haven't even seen an aircraft yet!

Correct me if I’m wrong but my understand is that these 2x B752s are not extra capacity, they are purely there to meet current capacity as there is no chance that all 6 A321s will be ready for the start of the routes.

The B752’s won’t be additions to the TATL STN bass, they WILL be the base!!!

I see your point to a degree particularly with regard to people being savy with regard to price and to a lesser degree the airline but whenever. asking them about the aircraft they have traveled on generally have no idea to the type other than a Boeing or Airbus and not a scoopy doo of its age which was the point I was responding to.,

As purebeef pointed out the A380/Emirates combination is the exception.

A lot of BHX-YYZ flight are showing 60+ whilst STN / CDG are showing 30/40's

Whilst not the be all and end of of how a service is performing seat reservations do offer extra ancillary revenue, which we know is a very important part of the income these day. Primera charge £19.99 a pop to reserve seats on the transatlantic flights, or it could be a 'Comfort' fare which is £50 more than a 'Light' fare.

It's been posted elsewhere that the first A321 arriving next month will only fly short haul initially? It was also said that alongside the two 757's there will also be a DAT A320?

Reading back through old posts, aside from BHX-BOS being dropped, none of these dates have change. I've found an article on Primeras website that state "The first Airbus will enter service in March 2018" (A321neo) and the 2 A321neoLR will be delivered in the last quarter of 2018. The article is dated June 2017.

With STN-ALC/AGP starting in April it makes sense to use the aircraft of S/H routes for crew training/familiarisation, especially with it being a new type but there's only a week until EWR starts after ALC/AGP. Maybe this is why the 757's are being brought in to STN

Based on the LH schedule only requiring 6 aircraft, is there more to come for when the LR arrives? If this was always the schedule, and if i'm reading it right that the 8 A321's included 6x neo and 2x neoLR, when BHX-BOS was on sale that would've required 7 aircraft, which they would never have had if the LR wasn't being delivered until Q4 2018? Was STN-IAD brought forward/introduced after BHX-BOS was dropped?

Apr - 1 - STN
May - 4 (1 - BHX / 2 - STN / 1 - CDG)
Jun - 5 (1 - BHX / 2 - STN / 2 - CDG)

Malaga is their 'strongest and most in demand destination with over 1000 flights last year'. When you think of it like that it makes sense for them to base a plane in AGP, it must give them more options. It still doesn't offer us any answers about S19 for BHX but time will tell.

They are happy that KEF is their 'first' Northern European destination from the UK. Signs that there could be more to come and that KEF will grow beyond what we have?

No clear plans yet for a new base and their long haul capability will be concentrated at STN, CDG and BHX (for now at least).

More routes to come from their UK bases including more transatlantic, hopefully BHX will be included in the long haul expansion?

I am looking forward to them arriving at BHX in 2 months time after the initial wobble.

At least it is something different and be great to see EWR and YYZ back on the departure boards. And i dont think BHX has ever had flights to YYZ in the winter season so this is a BIG positive development and x3 weekly flights to YYZ

Primera Air announces winter schedule with 4 new destinations and prologues transatlantic flights

The low-cost airline, which will soon start direct transatlantic flights from Birmingham (BHX) to New York (EWR) and Toronto (YYZ), continues expansion with extended flights from Birmingham to North America and adding winter flights to Tenerife, La Palma, Alicante, Malaga and Reykjavik.

“Midlands travellers have shown great interest in our Spanish leisure destinations and it gives us confidence that our winter flights will give them improved flight options,” says Chief Commercial Officer Anastasija Visnakova.

The Nordic airline is also opening a new winter route to Reykjavik (KEF). “We’re happy that Reykjavik is our first short haul Northern European destination out of UK. For an airline, whose roots stem from Iceland, it is also a somewhat symbolic move” Anastasija Visnakova adds.

William Pearson, Aviation Director, Birmingham Airport said: “We are delighted that Primera Air has added Reykjavik to its growing network of routes from Birmingham Airport. The choice of additional winter flights with Primera Air and the extension of the transatlantic routes to Toronto and New York shows the demand within the region. Primera Air offers a fantastic service on board its brand new aircraft with prices to European destinations from £35.00 and transatlantic from £149.00 one way.”

In addition, Primera Air is extending its Birmingham-New York and Birmingham-Toronto flight schedule through November. “We are beginning our transatlantic flights to North America in just a few weeks and the final preparation stage is truly exciting! The fact that we’ve already created more than 250 jobs here, clearly shows that the UK market is at the core of our business plan, and travelers can expect to see even more transatlantic and European destinations from our UK bases in the future” says A. Visnakova.

As previously announced, Primera Air is opening new bases in Birmingham (BHX), London Stansted (STN) and Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) to commence flights to New York, Boston, Washington DC and Toronto already this April along with new routes from UK to Málaga, Palma de Mallorca, Alicante, Barcelona and Chania. Within the next 2 years, Primera Air plans to increase its presence on current bases and to add new transatlantic routes and bases, as it has 20 new Boeing MAX9-ER on order.
