Is the closure of stand 1 something to do with the work in progress, or is that for some other reason?

I'm guessing it's more likely to do with snow clearing equipment being placed there for the winter months unless somebody knows different.

Yep Aviador you have guessed it right. Stand 1 is closed due to the snow clearing equipment being parked there over the winter period as usual, Well thats according to the airports latest Airside Safety Bulletin which was issued last month.

I find this quite interesting. Previously, one could have assumed that a bit of space was being freed up by putting the 2 Eastern JS41s on the same stand but, as we know, Eastern now have the E135 knocking about. Is this update simply for the benefit of the flyshuttle services or are there more plans afoot?

It's possible that stand 3 will be used for overnight parking of snow vehicles with stand 5 hosting the E135. Oddly enough, last Thursday morning the Loganair Saab was parked on stand 24 for no reason I could see.

Pole Hill has been unserviceable for most of the year, although I think it is still identing. I'm sure it should have been back in action by now.
