Having moved to in particular the cruise industry but to an extent packages its all about the critical 'balance due' date and low deposits mean cancellations in some cases which can free up late availability space - some cruise lines have backed away from this as it upsets too many regulars but airlines need to 'fill em'.

My son and his wife have just booked return flights from LBA with Jet2 to Ibiza in October next year for £203 for the pair of them. Triple the price for the same dates flying from Manchester!
£203 seems more than reasonable to me. If its triple the price at MAN they must be giving them away over there.

£203 in Jet2's bank earning them interest or usable towards other things as necessary. Also goes some way towards healthy forward planning as to how specific flights may be selling, or are going to sell. Lot of logic in enticing customers early

Be nice to have air Baltic as a regular, am sure they could make some routes work out of LBA
How it'd be good to have them on Vilnius... we've been sorely missing that route for a while, RYR made it work brilliantly. Think we've got Riga covered though, which would be the obvious choice

Air Baltic can`t make anything pay at the moment and are reducing the fleet by 20 or so aircraft this winter as quite a few are in store at present
Pretty sure Vilnius to Leeds would pay. Ryanair flights were generally full on a larger aircraft. I dont understand why neither Wizz nor Baltic have given it a go before now given the passenger numbers Ryanair had.

The Leased AirBaltic A220 YL-AAP will return back to Riga tomorrow morning 09:00 as LS49.

Of course STC
Good news is that this appears to have changed and is now staying to operate flights tomorrow.

Currently down to operate the LS271/2 LBA-ALC spin at 07:00 then the LS265/6 LBA-AGP at 15:45

Likely as there’s still 2 737-300s tech.

Not sure whether there is anything in it or not, but tonight, someone in Blue Sky Aviation's live stream at LBA, stated that having spoken to Jet2 staff on the South Side, there is talk of A321s at LBA from next March (not NEOs).

Well we shall see. If 2 x 733s are retiring, we need a couple of something to replace them.

Dont supoose they were encouraging viewers to make submissions to LCC?

I suppose that would be good in terms of passenger uplift but they are just as noisy as the 737 800's, which wont please the airport.

Nope. I posted a comment about the video, which I had out on their Facebook page, but my comment wasn't read out. The ones before and after were, so it seems that maybe there is a policy of not mentioning anything viewed as possibly contentious. Normally, I would say my comment was just missed, but it has happened each time I have posted about it, which seems a bit of a coincidence.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?
LBA: B737-300 G-GDFK empty down to Paris at 16:15 to operate the return LS268 back to Leeds 20:00 ETA where it will then operate the delayed LS265 to Malaga 20:40ETD
LBA: Albastar B737-800 EC-MUB positioning in tommorow afternoon from Gatwick 15:45 to operate a charter to Lourdes/Tarbes on Friday afternoon 14:00 AP7721 STC
I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
