A sign of the widespread fog!Our ATR from Dublin this morning diverted to EDI. Quite a coach journey! Not what you want after a connection from a long haul flight.
Agree - very rare indeed for fog with any westerly bias to the wind - let alone the 270/08 kts that has been recorded.Yes it rare with the wind in a westerly direction that’s hope the cat 3 is serviceable or the fog clears

Sorry but today isn't an indication of a problem with the ATR72. Fog will impact ANY aircraft type not equipped with Cat 3 auto land at any airport, and that applies to far more than the ATR72. We all know that they are somewhat limited in strong crosswinds, but your regular complaints about the type isn't going to do any good as they are what we've got, so perhaps time to give it a rest?EI3392 DUB-LBA diverting to DUB.
Another questionable day for the ATR's.
I agree its not just ATR's but as everything else is landing it just highlights the disparity.Sorry but today isn't an indication of a problem with the ATR72. Emerald aren't going to go out and buy nice jets with Cat3 just so they can land in fog ,or cross winds, given operating such types would render half their routes economically non-viable.
So how did the approach feel assuming you did an auto land?Got in tonight on easyjet49 after a lap of the overhead. Mrs was moaning why he keep turning left haha
Yes did autoland all told turn phones off not just airplane mode before descent. And a member of cabin crew went down plane to reiterate the message! Still idiot behind left phone on as heard message blip.So how did the approach feel assuming you did an auto land?
The wizz a321 on blue sky live earlier today seemed to float and land a little late!Felt long as could see runway lights from window and dare we say the lba forever float but hard on brakes and reverse and a long slow run into the loop. All

Would love to know what goes through these folks heads. Ignorance or let's see if we crash! World is full of dick heads
Surprised you do could tell if it floated or not as it disappeared into the fog bank just before it reached the touch down point? The wizz a321 on blue sky live earlier today seemed to float and land a little late!
It was just entering the fog bank when it was floating, but could only just make it out.Surprised you do could tell if it floated or not as it disappeared into the fog bank just before it reached the touch down point?
Saw that earlier thought we had 2 easyjet flights to Paris today until i checked lba boardBig delay on Paris CDG easyJet this afternoon
Just seen Aer Lingus go around as Wizz was sat on the 32 threshold, dont know why.
I assume its gone tech. With a delay like that Im surprised they havent coached everyone to Manchester.Ouch another big one - KL1020 Has a 9 hour delay.. expecting to depart at 1900 tonight
