Tom Holdsworth has just posted on LinkedIn that Leeds Bradford Airport are to sponsor Leeds Rhinos Rugby League team this year.

✈️ 🏉 Taking Off Together 🏉 ✈️

Delighted to announce that Leeds Bradford Airport will be entering into a partnership with Leeds Rhinos Rugby League Club for the upcoming Super League season.

Leeds Bradford Airport and Leeds Rhinos Rugby League Club share the same values around inclusivity and the 'One Team' culture and the partnership will see that relationship build with bespoke offers for airport services for Rhinos partners and supporters.

The Leeds Bradford Airport brand will appear on the Rhinos men’s playing kit and around the stadium on matchdays but wider than just a branding opportunity, this partnership will increase LBA’s commitment to the communities local to the airport, as well as showcasing its support to one of Leeds premier sports teams.

Thanks in particular to Ben Turnbull, as well as Rob Oates and all in the Leeds Rhinos Commercial Team for helping to deliver this exciting partnership.

Jet2 have sponsored the Rhinos before, and the old Leeds Carnegie Rugby Union team, but we're only sleeve sponsors, so their ads were all but invisible unless players were shown close up. They don't seem interested in football sponsorship though, or advertising at football grounds. Huge visibility, but huge costs to match.

Didnt they sponsor Middlesborough at one time?

Good to see the airport finally getting its brand out locally. Only downfall is where is the announcement of this partnership from LBA themselves? I can see it on Leeds Rhinos social media but no mention from the airport itself? Do they actually employ a marketing team?

In regards to football it’s be nice to see them take a cheeky sponsorship of Doncaster Rovers!

They recently employed a new marketing manager and were 'letting go' of their previous contracted marketing team I believe. I'm sure they will eventually release something on Social Media. That seems to be full of LBA ads recently. Absolutely loads relating to the terminal development, routes and yesterday a rather impressive one relating to parking options. In fact, the announcement has just popped up on my phone so it's out there now from LBA.

Where this is all wrong is that the airport and Rhino's should have agreed a common date and time to make a simultaneous announcement. It's not difficult

Speaking of promoting the airport and sponsorship etc I do wonder which politician will be invited to open the new terminal development…….any bets on Reeves or Brabin 🤣.

Has to be Alex Sobel , surely. After all he is the MP that in 2017 said it was fantastic that the airport had passed the 3m passenger mark, and he was looking forward to seeing further growth.

Or maybe not.........

The airport should definitely go with a duo Reeves and Brabin and maybe hand them a planning application for a new terminal on the day with a photoshoot with all the national press invited too and they can have a party to celebrate UK aviation expansion haha 😁🤣

Just been listening to Michael O'Leary UK press conference today...Utterly scathing about this Government and referred to the Heathrow runway as The Dead Cat bounce...quite a bit of effing and jeffing as he usually does... Interesting a question came up about Doncaster and Ryanair...He laughed, said there was no plans as no one lives near it....He mentioned the great growth at LBA that themselves and Jet2 have achieved and reckoned it could be a lot more, especially if APD was scrapped..But said that they would put growth into LBA rather than interest in Doncaster....We are certainly on his radar, wish he'd mentioned the new terminal though

Hi, I was born and lived in B36 for a long time - Lindale Avenue, just around the corner from Hodge Hill Comp.
I just noticed your postcode on a post.

Do you still live in the area?

49 trips undertaken last year. First done this year which was to North Wales where surprisingly the only slippery surfaces were in Conwy with the castle and it's walls closed due to the ice.
