Good stuff. The foam testing looks like an accident at a dairy. First time I have ever seen what the inside of the baggage handling looks like. Not quite as impressive as the one in Die Hard 2.

Very interesting read. Glad they mentioned our 2x daily service to Heathrow "There is a British Airways connection to London Heathrow several times a day." and our lack of ability to gain legacy carriers "LBA has been unable either to acquire or retain the services of foreign flag carriers such as Lufthansa, KLM or SAS". At least they got their facts right...
Only partially, as we do have KLM (admittedly not mainline but it still counts as KLM surely) and have had them many years. Presumably this was written before BA pulled the plug.

Extinction rebellion would bring the whole economy of the country down to a collapse if they had it their way! The way I look at it is, keep going the way we are but as science and technology advances eventually we will succeed in becoming more and more environmentally friendly which is what we are doing, but by allowing growth in the economy and around the world this prevents the world economy collapsing. I guess the only real concern is the Earths oil reserves as this would always be required.

Fact. If the aviation industry collapsed because of Covid 19 and the ER clowns, aviation development will collapse with it. The money will no longer be there to further develop less polluting jet engines (whether noise or CO2), or to develop electric engines and the powerful yet lightweight batteries they would rely on.

Aviation has to survive and prosper to bring about change.

I wouldn't read too much into that. If easyJet are going to operate BFS-LBA from October, there is no need to announce before early September. I would imagine most bookings would be made within 8 weeks of flying.

3 months without any flights from LBA, its been grim! relief that operations are starting back up over the next week or two

I'll tell you no word of a lie but I've been woken up by birds every day at 4:30AM since the lockdown came into force. They are so loud and consistently loud.

If you think that's bad where I live we have peacocks! most mornings there ok but if something scares them and esp with them just having chicks then the screetching sound they make is awful, it can be heard upto a mile away. At this time of year once it becomes light they start wondering about so count yourself lucky lol Believe there the indian peafowl breed

I see they proclaim that Fast Track security has been suspended, as have all car parks not within walking distance. Whilst over the hill the opposition makes a big virtue of allowing you to book a particular Fast Track slot and for free at present, as well as offering 20% discount on various airport car parking...oh dear.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
