Use this prefix for new threads for Leeds Bradford Airport
Well I have again had a response from LBA re Ryanair today and was told that we should not believe everything we are reading as there is a great deal of misinformation being circulated at present (Fake News) and that LBA are continuing discussions with all pre Covid 19 airline partners regarding recommencement of flying.

Make of that what you will. At least it perhaps explains the absence of any confirmation from Ryanair or LBA, as it seems there is nothing yet to confirm either way. Where there's hope,.........
Like in one of my previous posts we are all thinking negative but maybe something positive is on the way, for a start we did in the end get our massive news! maybe more massive news is on the way?

My estimates were close then ! travelling leeds to Manchester its best to stay on the m62 and come off at Prestwich as its just a straight road in what only takes around 10mins to travel down on a clear run.

A look at what is bookable on the Ryanair website shows many routes across all bases have been reduced this coming summer season with bases like SEN, EMA, MAN and LTN all seeing less aircraft required to be based to operate the "new" schedule. Given LBA was only going to be a 1x aircraft base this summer, it would be unfortunate but not entirely surprising if it did not return.

I've also seen members express their surprise at the loss of routes such as DUB, and given its popularity assume that it will return. However, another look at the Ryanair booking engine reveals only 50% of the 32/33x weekly flights from both BHX and MAN are currently bookable in peak summer, therefore showing that the cuts are across the board and even the most popular routes are being reduced.

Watching MOL's press conference he said bases inc UK are under review and they are talking to airports to achieve deals, he went onto say they would expand at new or existing bases (especially those where they have been affected by other airlines going bust) if deals can be done.
I guess Leeds may not be willing to do a deal or maybe still in negotiation ?
T2 at BHX will have plenty of free stands once all the FlyBe aircraft eventually leave.
So I would hope BHX can strike a deal that would add based units ?
Lets see what the next few weeks bring re LBA

The fact that Ryanair are still waiting for their order of B737 max8 aircraft and that some of their current fleet are coming to the end of their lease might actually be a good thing if the airline is cutting so much capacity, good as in less aircraft parked up but not good for staff. Amazing the reduction been seen though!

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
