We shall have to wait and watch, with baited breath, then to see if anything transpires on the 18th. I trust that someone more local than me will visit the viewing area at whatever the appointed time is (if it exists) with their camera. Fingers crossed everyone.
I will definitely be at the cemetery rd view point, be nice to see a widebody rather than the never ending B737s.

Today, I twice saw the Airport mechanics - three of them - giving a long parked-up hi-lifter a once over. I don't know if the engine was started or any of the systems tested. BTW, the hi-lifter is the device for loading and unloading baggage containers into an aircraft hold (for the benefit of those who aren't aware).
Don't the handling agents use their own equipment?

Normally but I don't think Swissport have their own hi-lifter here so perhaps LBA are going to rent them their machine, assuming it's serviceable.
Relying on a single seldom used device could be risky. I assume loose loading isn't possible in the case of equipment failure.

Not heard anything further.

According to previous information flights are due to start two weeks tomorrow!

Not seen anywhere on the news here but according to Indian news channel Gravitas, Pakistan is on the verge of a financial collapse on the scale of Sri Lanka. The Gravitas take on it is it could lead to civil war. Hopefully this is far fetched and the situation isn't nearly as bad.

Heard from a very reliable source that the IPS Airways Pakistan flights will be operated by SereneAir using Airbus A330's
That would be interesting. Serene Air appear to have 3 A330 200s, at least one of which is an ex Air Europe machine. Currently they only fly within Pakistan, to the Arabian countries and one route to China with nothing in Europe. Let's hope they know the way here!

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
