Both BRS and GLA have both been mentioned as possible TK destinations, although currently only NCL seems to be on the radar.

The PK codeshare requires an overnight stay at IST in both directions, except if flying from LHR. This must surely limit the number of passengers choosing this route over EK, QR, EY offerings from UK. Given that PK are planning eventually to restart UK ops, it would not make much sense to start new UK destinations based solely on the codeshare.

Sounds like its a non starter then. Interesting to learn that codeshares have restrictions like this built into them. Is this an agreement between the partner airlines or a reflection of government restructions?

It a shame that TK appear to have other airports on their radar first because:
They have one of the best products currently out there
Istanbul/Turkey very much a growing market
They fly to some fairly obscure destinations from IST as well as lots of the mainstream ones - just the sort of route network LBA needs connecting to

Worth noting......Pre-Covid, 700,000 passengers flew to Turkey from the UK just for medical tourism, fully expect that industry to get even bigger, already bringing in a few $Billion to the Turkish economy, and thus can see TK more in the regional airports over the coming years.

Wasn't there some literature saying Leeds was on the Turkish radar? It might be worth going back through this thread if anyone's got time. I'm sure it was posted here.
Yes, there was an article about Turkish and their future plans, which specifically mentioned several airports they would like to fly to. LBA was one of those listed.

As from the end of March the only 2 routes from Northern England & Scotland to Lithuania will be Liverpool & Edinburgh to Kansas with Ryanair. Ryanair have only pulled Leeds & Birmingham to Vilnius because they have had a tiff with Vilnius Airport over charges. I’m flying to Vilnius next Sunday for a couple of days so will see what the loads are like.

I understand why they have pulled the route but you would think its an ideal opportunity for another airline to step in.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
