Heard a rumour it going to be announced......................as DSA

Hope not - don't forget easy has a massive operation out of the north west so could be looking at dilution hope more chance of a smallish base at LBA which is established now and they are growing it like previous

I think Finger66's comment was extremely tongue-in-cheek

I'm with you, I think a 2-3 aircraft base is much more likely. With any luck the timings from based aircraft will be better, some flights are really suffering from poor timings which I believe has negatively impacted some loads - especially Barcelona on Wednesdays

The only ‘rumour’ I’ve heard was from Christian Foster, the ‘program director’ at FlyDoncaster who has named easyjet openly a couple of times. Whilst they could put a lot of money into DSA to carve out a market there I’m not sure they will after previous attempts at routes from there were met with very low uptake on the whole. Let’s not forget that it’s apparently going to be another two years before DSA is capable of handling passenger flights.

So whilst it’s entirely possible (and if DSA is to be successful it would need that seismic shift), the evidence of recent years would suggest that LBA is their Yorkshire focus. The purchase by AENA might mean there is a multi airport deal to be had, they do of course operate from a lot of AENA owned airports.

As for the delay in putting AGP/PMI on sale, it could be anything from a new base to just trying to determine how to fit it into the network to even deciding to redeploy the aircraft on other routes. I think we all hope it’s the former.

Massive risk if they decide to base at DSA historically airlines tend to go on routes that are established and have a a change to further explore and as said current market conditions are weak so I would think that LBA management will be working on this now

LBA management have been working on Easyjet for the last 5 years at least, and lest we forget, LBA have directors who previously were with Easyjet and have connections. In addition, Easyjet now have bases at Luton and Newcastle. Both are linked to LBA through ownership, so an LBA base makes sense once the terminal is able to absorb the additional capacity. I can see no way Easyjet or anyone else would commit to a DSA base when in reality, nobody knows when it will even open. 2028 is probably over optimistic. Airlines need certainty, something very much lacking at DSA.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
