Yeah im still shocked PIA are still here to be honest. With the way airlines in India are going, airlines in Pakistan are no better. One to watch in this crazy aviation world. :cautious:

PIA are said to restart Islambad to NYC not sure if they add the UK stop over again. But PIA does fly to Paris & Barcelona from Sialkot so it would be nice to BHX to get some new routes just hoping it starts soon.

Only issue with PIA is that they don't have enough long haul aircraft!! They only have B777's, and 1 of them has now been grounded for over a year gathering dust, because the airline can't afford to buy a replacement engine!! So can't see how they can start any new long haul flights without buying or leasing new aircraft! All about money again!

Banned from Europe for 6 months due to fake pilot scandal !
Totally deserved IMO, they need to get their house in order before they are welcomed back here. The worrying part is this sort of behaviour is not just limited to Pakistan...

I’ll wager they will probably wet lease in an ACMI specialist to fly on their behalf for the ban period, rather than closing their entire EU network for so long.

Is that possible?

Is that possible?
I believe so. If an airline wet leases from another airline, then that airline provides everything including flight and cabin crew and will fly under their own operators certificate. A dry lease is where only the aircraft is supplied and the airline doing the leasing provides everything else (there are also varying degrees of 'damp lease', which as you can probably guess falls between a wet and a dry lease).
As an example, when Turkmenistan Airlines were suspended from operating into European airspace they used WAMOS A330's for a while to operate their BHX and other services.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
