A Dreamliner would be nice though!![]()
you make some great points about LBA and it definitely has a strong candidacy for ME3 service. When you mention MAN, though, don't forget Saudia as well!Based on Manchester currently having ~ : Emirates at 21, Qatar 16 and Eithad at 14 weekly flights and not even considering Oman Air and Turkish, it’s an absolute a “no brainer” that Leeds could and should have a link into one of the Middle East Hubs. The 787 would be perfect especially with a lunchtime arrival when most of the spring / autumn fog has lifted.
How many passengers originate from Yorkshire on these flights (10% - 20 %) bearing in mind the huge potential into Pakistan alone ???
The issue here is potential vs. reality which often leaves us disappointed when it comes to LBA unfortunately . Prove me wrong Qatar !
I think a American carrier is completely different to a ME3 as it is a lot more limited. The ME3 offer a lot more connections.Based on this , I think Bristol will struggle too , although it has had an American carrier in this , the fact that it failed will not win them points
Do they look at whether an airport has usable air bridges airside? Guessing free access to the executive lounges for business passengers as well will come into it? Do they also look at landside transport options to the airport for their passengers?new airport bids to present them with a high criteria of facilities , both airside and landside.
RJ don't operate to BHX, except for maintenance by MAEL?That would be a much better alternative , especially for smaller airports , like Bristol and Leeds and a perfect alternative to the 737 Max.
I think Royal Jordanian operate the A321 into Birmingham.
This has to be one of the most sensible comments on here. Why are we all aiming so big. LBA is what it is but there is still so much untapped potential for links to Europe. The airport can handle that. As was posted previously how many times would we lose a Dreamliner flight because the wind is a couple of knots too strong or the rvr is 50m too low. Much better chance of an ERJ, CRJ or similar being able to land. Not sure what these airlines are scared of they would be in for a pleasant surprise if only they would try.Totally agree.
Tidy up our own backyard then hook the golden duck.
