There's no stopping Wizz expansion from Doncaster. It's proving hugely popular.

There are suggestions on other parts of the forum that Wizz and Ryanair stand to lose the most post Brexit.

Flights to Eastern Europe with Wizz in particular set to suffer substantially. Undoubtedly airlines such as Wizz carry a sizable number of migrant workers to the UK from Eastern Europe and Brexit is likely to have a significant impact on the viability of such flights to airports like Doncaster Airport.

I would imagine Wizz supports a reasonable number of current jobs at Doncaster airport. It's going to be interesting how this is all going to play out over the next couple of years or so, especially given the areas surrounding Doncaster airport were mostly in favour of Brexit. I wonder how many airport workers who voted for Brexit considered the wider implications of their decision, especially as the decision to leave the EU is likely to have a significant impact on their own jobs.

Not to get too "political", but I believe that a lot of people didn't think of wider implications of an exit from Europe. Assuming the present migrants can stay, there will still be plenty of people wanting to travel back to their "home country".

I can't see the UK managing without many of these migrant workers. We will need them.

I think what many might have had in mind when voting to leave is that there would be much greater control over those coming in. In other words, we'd welcome those who we want to work and who we need to fill many job vacancies, but not those who view the UK as a free lunch without the need to work much. In other words, something a bit like that in Australia where they have in effect a points system for those wanting to settle and work there.

However, in or out of the EU, it may not be that easy because if we look to Norway they still have to allow free movement in order to trade with the EU. Yet again, it's more the uncertainty rather than the possible eventual outcome that might have a negative effect on such things as airlines' thinking, especially on eastern European routes.

Mentioned elsewhere but Sofia cut from DSA. Worrying times for the airport Wizz have been the backbone of the airport along with TUI .

Thanks Rob. Indeed it's going to be challenging time for all airports particularly those where a substantial amount of traffic originates from the continent. I expect a sizable percentage of passengers using routes such as Sofia will be migrant workers and as we know, many are choosing not to come to the UK due the uncertainty of #Brexit.

Wizz cutting routes will leave the airport in tatters . Was over at the airport Saturday the Cluj afternoon flight had 156 outbound inbound looked decent too.

This is what Wizz Air's Doncaster schedule for Summer 18 looks like.

Katowice 5 weekly Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday.
Lublin 2 weekly Monday and Friday and ends 18th June.

I don't believe so. Kosice and Lublin end in May and June respectively. I realised I made a mistake as well and it's 29 rotations a week not 31. Still even with the cuts its an impressive list and frequency for a 'small' airport.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
