Flew out 15/9 on LS231 to Barcelona returning today. Used the LBA long stay car park with the number plate recognition which was pretty efficient. Set off at 06.50 from Guiseley, parked up, checked in, did security and was having a coffee by 07.30 in departures. All Jet 2 check in desks were open with no queue, minimal wait at security and on time boarding by Jet 2. On both trips we were subject to BCN slot rationing which meant a 30 minute delay outbound and a 1 hour delay today. The original slot might have meant a 3 hour delay but the captain did his best to bring things forward. Bit of a queue at passport, bags on the conveyor and a car park bus waiting - a very positive experience.

The other half is heading to London on Sunday that is assuming BA don't cancel due to #stormbrian I'll be asking for a review from her when she returns.

Came out to BUD yesterday on LS431 which had an almost full load of 141 pax. The airport was still relatively busy as it’s half term in some areas. From the mid stay parking, to check in, through to security everything worked like a dream. The only downside was the lack of places to sit airside. As usual Jet2 gave us a very punctual and efficient service. Return journey on Friday

At least that one problem should be resolved in the next week or so, as the new lounge area was scheduled to be opening soon.

Returned from BUD this afternoon on LS432, which landed 40 minutes ahead of schedule, and we even got an airbridge. The flight was full, and interestingly I would say around two thirds were Hungarian nationals. The Jet2 crew were as excellent as usual, but the first officer has missed his vocation as a standup comedian. He was hilarious but his humour went over the head of the mainly Hungarian pax, though he still did a perfect landing on 32. Immigration and baggage reclaim were swift, and we were driving round Lawnswood roundabout at the scheduled landing time. First class service LBA and Jet2.

Steady year for me:
LBA-BTS-LBA back in January. Wow that was cold (and BTS was no better lol)
LBA-BHD-LBA in June
LBA-DUB-LBA in August (Ryanair)
LTN-VAR-LTN in September with Wizz (never again on both counts)
Wishing you all a Merry Xmas and a Very Happy New Year hoping we end up with extra choice from LBA in 2018

With 10 flights still to go this year it looks like:

From/to LBA 68 flights of which:
LBA-LHR (BA) - 37
LHR-LBA (BA) - 28
AMS-LBA (LS) - 2
LBA-AMS (LS) - 1

Beyond that I have taken another 146 flights but as those are not to/from LBA I won't list them all.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
