BHD is very easy to connect through when arriving on a domestic flight. walk along the corridor on the ground floor (where you come in) and take the stairs between gates 5 & 6 up to the general departures area - of course assumes you don't have checked bags to claim and re-check and have your onward boarding pass.

I would definitely go via BHD rather than DUB any day as you have to go through immigration and landside, before going up and through security. There is a lot of needless running about!

I took 2 Aer Lingus Regional flights on Tuesday. CWL-BHD & BHD-LBA. Aer Lingus operates 1 daily flight on the Belfast to Cardiff route. I’d say about 35 on my flight. I really like Belfast City Airport. Small but it’s planned out well. Nice permanent single story walkways lead out from both sides of the terminal to the remote gates. I arrived into and departed from gate 9. Flight to LBA was at 1735 and from what I could tell was a full flight. Lots of suits on board too. 45 minute flight home. Parked outside the domestic arrival door so just a short walk in. Bags were just being offloaded onto the belt so no waiting time at all. Walked out to catch the A1 into Leeds. It’s every hour at this time of night and the screens were showing 45mins for the next service. There were at least a dozen people already waiting. Quick look at the bus app and I saw there was a 34 First bus from the lights at Murgatroyds in 27mins. I took a very brisk walk under the tunnel and caught that instead. I really hope they up the frequencies of the A1 in the summer months.

I flew with Ryanair last night LBA-KRK. First time on a Max…loved it.
Security was quiet at 19:15 so no queue at all. Used the new scanners this time. All items left in my bag. We had to remove coats and belts and empty our pockets. No more metal detector frames to walk through just the ones where you stand and put your arms to the side of you while it scans you. You can leave shoes/boots on for this too. Departure was quiet but all shops and restaurants were open. From what I could see onboard it was a near full flight.

Flying to GRO this evening with FR. Very last minute decision. £15 out £35 back with Jet2 on Sunday and hotel £55 for 2 nights.
Security is all boarded up now down the left hand side, it wasn’t like that last week when I flew out to KRK. I had a good look around the security area today waiting for my bag to come through. Looks like there are just the new scanners in operation now. So liquids & laptops left in bags just belts off and pockets emptied.
5 flights left to depart this evening so departures is quiet. I only checked in around an hour ago and I’m SEQ number 103 so looks like it’s just over half full going out tonight. Back with Jet2 on a 300 and that looks like a full cos I have to check in at GRO on Sunday as there are only exit seats available. I could pay £34 today for an exit row or wait until Sunday and get allocated it anyway.

Thanks, great news...We`re through about 6.30am on Tuesday so I`ve booked Fast Track..Fingers crossed.

I flew GRO-LBA this morning with Jet2. 143 on board. 2.20hrs flight time. I was very impressed with the Jet2 ground staff at Gerona. They were walking around the gate area before we were called advising people how the boarding procedures were going to work. Very professional. I have a Jet2Holidays trip planned for August, again to the Costa Brava. Looking forward to that.
On arrival into LBA we were allocated an air bridge stand…which was duly attached. No queue at all at border control. I was just in time for the 11:55 A1 Flyer into Leeds but by the time I got there it was standing room only. The 12:25 Flyer was already parked behind it so I waited for that one. Again by 12:15 it was standing room only on this service. Most people getting on were asking for the train station stop. I think they really need to increase frequency of the A1 or get some double deckers.

Yes but the airport did say that when the new machines were ready for installation, the working area would be screened off. It's a necessity really as it's effectively a construction site alongside a busy public area.
I was stating a fact for information of others, I never said anything about areas being "bordered off"

Not sure of your point. I was stating a fact also for the benefit of others ie: why the area is now operating with only 2 lanes instead of 3 and why two are screened off.

Just booked FCO - LBA for May 2025 one way with KLM for £124 incl bag on their new 321N. I would have happily avoided the passport fun and games at Schipol but Jet2 were simply too expensive at 279 Euros one way excluding hold luggage and you dont even get a complimentary chunky dunky for that!

Hi, I was born and lived in B36 for a long time - Lindale Avenue, just around the corner from Hodge Hill Comp.
I just noticed your postcode on a post.

Do you still live in the area?

49 trips undertaken last year. First done this year which was to North Wales where surprisingly the only slippery surfaces were in Conwy with the castle and it's walls closed due to the ice.
