Yes. I suspect whatever people decide on will only be last minute as it is too hazardous at the moment to book ahead of time due to current restrictions. No plans personally but that may well change if the Govt vaccine roll-out is completed and other countries accept such evidence for entry AND their own restrictions equate to a more normal holiday environment. Heres hoping anyway. Mrs a and I had first jab last Friday.

Really wanting to book numerous flights to the family place near alicante but too much uncertainty. Its not just this country you have to think about but also the destination country and what their restrictions and virus rates are. can i ask is there any evidence to prove you have had the jab if you wish to travel? The property in spain has not been used now for a year due to covid but we have good neighbours who check it out. Im hoping all this gets sorted by summer, if so im betting we will see a massive surge of bookings esp to the winter sun places.

i must agree it is all abit faffy at the moment to book travel, maybe Summer 22 will be more of a safe bet, Summer 21 may be more of a last minute decision, with decision making based on travel restrictions/quarantine/covid passports etc!

I am waiting for clearance so I can use my Avios points to go to Lyon (LHR) and KLM voucher to go to Oslo (LBA). Those 2 trips are on my own but my wife and I still have an outstanding holiday to the Algarve

Not sure what the arrangements this side are going to be but when we had our first jab we were given a card each which said when we had it and which jab (Pfizer) it was which we need to take with us when we go for the 2nd jab. Whether that will be all we have or if they will be some sort of certificate I don't know. The other side of the question, over which we will have no control, is what Spain etc will require from us when we land. Too early to speculate I think.

thanks for that info, it also answers one of my other questions, with many different vaccines the second jab needs to be the same vaccine! yes everythings a bit up in the air still atm.

Re the identity of the second dose. We have been told that the second dose should be the same as the first except in exceptional circumstances. Therefore we expect that will happen. I suppose that the question of supply and distribution of supplies may have an effect ultimately but I expect that every effort willl be made to ensure that the second dose will be scheduled to be the same as the first. Time will tell I suppose.

Just booked myself and parents 13th sept to ALC with ryanair, myself returning 29th sept and parents returning 5th nov. All from LBA of course, thats a must! When booking the seats i could not help notice they were 33 rows of seats which adds upto 198 minus 3 for what appears to be an emergency exit area. Im taking a guess i might be on the max8? Haha

Still going then?

now now WH ! il risk it, parents were white in the face when i told them  was surprised to find literally every seat available though, on the outbound only two other seats were taken.
Ha ha, it was you said you wouldn't be flying in a MAX.
Surely those seats you see are the only ones booked? Any passengers who don't book specific seats dont show up. They don't on Jet2 anyway. Only the reserved seats show up, but that doesn't mean the plane doesn't have more booked.

Early days yet anyway, especially this year, and Ryanair tend to get a lot of late bookings.

yes me with my big mouth telling everyone im not flying on a max, and look what happens!

Busy week of bookings for myself (well family) this week.
May 2 seats booked on DSA-ALC with Wizz (first time parents using, a lot cheaper then Jet2, will be interesting to get their feedback)
July 2 seats booked on LBA - ALC
Sep 2 Seats booked on LBA - ALC

Jet2 ALC times trump FR's often a lot for our family from LBA so they don't mind paying slightly more

Our FR dep to ALC from LBA is around 5.30pm which we prefer, due to me flying with my parents i will drive the hire car with it been dark in spain when we arrive. If my parents were flying solo then they would go for a day light flight as jumping into a left hand drive car in the dark is not ideal for two older people! :nailbiting:

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
