I have a horrible feeling that it will be a bleak winter :(

I agree Ray, can't see any positive news at all this winter, with most of Europe likely to be shut down or on restrictions, can't see many flights this winter. I'm sure more flights will be cancelIed or delayed to summer 2021.

Wonder what plans the airport has to save more money this winter? What can they do?

good news adding 2 new unserved destinations, but a lead in time of only a month is very tight for new flights, I wonder if these might get delayed a bit like the new Riga & Vilnius?

I thought the same but I remember reading an article with an airline CEO (can't remember which one) who said that with travel restrictions appearing and disappearing so quickly they have noticed that people are generally booking flights closer to the departure date to minimise the risk of quarantine. With that in mind hopefully they'll be okay, although Wizz have pushed back many new routes and not just at BHX.

Hope the airport makes a big fanfare & to publicise wizz .. this is big news under current circumstances
Completely agree, the airport should be concentrating all it's efforts on it's airline customers and helping them to make a success of their existing services and any new ones. They still haven't mentioned Riga and Vilnius yet, whereas I see a tweet or an item on their website as a very simple and free thing which can make such a huge difference to the airlines.

Wizz have showed huge commitment and forward thinking at what is a difficult time and now is the time to get them on side and help them to grow.

They will grow :)

Some changes announced today delaying start of Riga and Vilnius (routesonline)

Riga – Birmingham eff 04DEC20 2 weekly (Previous plan: eff 18OCT20
Vilnius – Birmingham eff 05DEC20 3 weekly (Previous plan: eff 22OCT20)

Good stuff from Wizz promoting the new routes (y)

Four new destinations and so far I've found this from BHX.

Optimistically, perhaps they are holding back for an even bigger announcement?

Realistically, the BHX marketing and route development team are still on furlough!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
