TUI UK ANNOUNCES HOLIDAYS TO SHARM EL SHEIKH FOR 2020 FROM BIRMINGHAM AIRPORT

• Holidays to Sharm El Sheikh with flights from Birmingham Airport on sale from 7 November with first flights departing February 2020

TUI, the world’s largest holiday company and the UK’s number one holiday provider, are delighted to announce that holidays to Sharm El Sheikh will be back on sale on Thursday 7th November with a flight from Birmingham Airport for winter 2019 breaks and additional flights added in the summer.

Sticking with its commitment of offering more flexibility and choice for its customers, those living in the midlands will benefit as TUI will reintroduce holidays to the Egyptian resort town.

The holiday company are delighted to give customers the opportunity to return to the stunning Red Sea resort. The area was always a firm favourite due to its breath-taking scenic landscape, year-round dry climate with hot summers and warm winters as well as its long stretches of beautiful natural beaches and clear, calm seas. The resort is also widely popular with those seeking water sport activities such as scuba diving and snorkelling in the famous coral reefs.

Resorts including TUI Magic Life Sharm El Sheikh and Reef Oasis Blue Bay along the beautiful Red Sea coast will be on sale, with more hotel announcements in the pipeline.

TUI moving all Orlando flights from Sanford to Melbourne Airport

Interesting development.

Airport, Distance to Orlando Centre, Distance to Disney (all distances are as the crow flies)

Orlando Int (MCO), 9 miles, 15 miles
Sanford (SFB), 18 miles, 34 miles
Melbourne (MLB), 55 miles, 59 miles

The only plus for passengers I could see is for those holidaying along the coastline where Melbourne Airport is closer to.

As for Disney, Tampa airport is closer than Orlando Melbourne Airport (1:10 vs 1:20 driving)

TUI must have got a hell of a deal from Melbourne Airport to move all ops there (before now I hadn't even heard of it!).

Quite smart. Close to Cape Canaveral and ideal for those seeking to avoid Orlando and all that stuff and enjoy space and the beach, whilst still close enough to attract the Orlando and all that stuff visitors. Could really work out well for them.

Just about every other airline operates into MCO as overwhelmingly the majority of passengers will be heading for Disney etc for better or worse and I believe most people who take in a beach break head to the east coast to St Pete's, Clearwater etc. (we certainly have in the past along with many other Brits)as generally the weather is better on that coast

I've read that TUI are starting cruises from Port Canaveral so that could be a big part of their plan. Not sure how many folk would fancy a 90min drive withthe kids after a 9/10 hrs flight and navigating U.S. customs and immigration to Disney but presumably TUI know what they are doing.

Sharm returns 19th Feb, it's weekly on a Wed until May when it goes 2x weekly, Wed and Sun.

Yes TOM7482/3 is showing starting April 2nd, I presume it only operates during April next year, the last few years it operated Thursday afternoon in the summer period, May To October. Maybe TUIs contract with P&O finishes end of April, or maybe they intend to drop one of the current Thursday afternoon flights to fit it in?

The Malta flight must be replacing the Thomas Cook flight we used in June with practicaly identical timings P& O are operating out of Malta for the next two years , we have looked at booking with them and they show Tui flights so presumably a contract is signed.

Apparently TUI are planning on re-launching flights to Cuba next summer and The Gambia next winter. No doubt this is in part filling the void left by TCX so with a bit of luck TUI will pick up Banjul from BHX....and with even more luck start Cuba!
