I know that but if favourable routes are full other options have to be taken to avoid delays and if you look
at the route he took he was north of the east bound traffic but that doesn`t mean nothing else won`t be using
or crossing his planned route
Just for clarity on this, west bound and east bound flights use alternate altitudes. West bound flights use even flight levels (e.g. FL340 ((34000ft)), FL360, FL380 etc), whilst east bound use odd flight levels (e.g. FL330, FL350, FL370 etc). This applies worldwide and takes into account any east or west component. So, if a flight was travelling NNW then the west bound altitude rule would apply.
This alternate altitude use allows for aircraft travelling on opposite directions to use the same flight lanes should the weather conditions dictate that these are favourable.
As PF51 had no or little other traffic heading west, then this was probably the optimum routing with regards to 'winds aloft' and therefore timing and fuel burn.

Sorry for drifting off topic.

From what I can tell, Primera didn't really tell passengers about the 757. Is this correct? I do wonder if they had sent out a blanket email, explaining the delivery delay, would they have received less bad flack?

However guys i think we sometimes have to put it into perspective, as we have discussed over the last 3 months BHX is and will be the weakest out of the 3 but lets not get down about it. We have Primera and thats all that counts at the minuite. :)

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
