Wizz are a nightmare. Me and my wife and two friends were booked for a December trip to Krakow. They changed the date twice and the last time by three days.... We've given it up as a bad job and will now use Ryanair from Luton. We have work to sort out and stuff. Not a great image.

Welcome to the group.

To be fair to Wizz, the odds are this is due to the need to ground a significant number of NEO aircraft to undertake checks on their Pratt & Whitney engines, which is a major job. This isn't the airlines fault as it's a safety directive and affects every airline that flies aircraft powered by these engines. They have already axed flights across their network whilst the checks are undertaken over the next few months and explained that cancellations and disruption are inevitable due to aircraft shortages during this period.

There's no doubt Wizz have a well earned bad reputation and these checks will only to add to it, but unfortunately there's nothing they can do other than try to minimise disruption and pay money back on time. At least they've done it early and given you the opportunity to book with Ryanair.

Nice to hear from a new member. As WH says this is probably outside Wizz's control, but you can read more on the subject if you go back a page on this thread. Theres also a positive report on Wizz's customer service.

Forgot I had to re sign up. I have posted for years on and off (armadillomaster).

I understand they need to operationally change things, but 3 different dates and by so many days is out of our acceptability and we sacked them off.

As someone who understands aviation I would give them a go again, but others who don't may not.

I use Ryanair frequently and can honestly say I've never had any issues with them ever.

Wizz Air have started to put some of there LBA summer 2024 flights on sale.

Gdansk - 2x weekly Tue & Sat
Katowice - Not on sale yet
Krakow - 2x weekly Mon & Fri
Warsaw Chopin - 2x weekly Wed & Sun
Wroclaw - Not on sale
Bucharest - 2x weekly Mon & Fri
Cluj Napoca - 2x weekly Tue & Sat

I would expect this to change over time with more flights added.

Hope so. They're flying 4 to Bucharest this summer aren't they?

In theory yes but there may be too many other factors affecting Wizz as a whole just now that may prevent that from happening in the short term. Anyway we shall see and may even know more after the upcoming ACC meeting

Looking on the Wizz App, Wrocław doesn’t seem bookable after 4th November.
1-0 to Ryanair? Although this route, if it's one of the thinner ones, may be being dropped for now due to ongoing aircraft shortages due to the engine issues. Maybe back later. Maybe not.

Let's hope they replace it with something else. We really need Vilnius back.

Whatever the reason its concerning that Wizz have reduced from their DSA schedule.

I believe the airline is cutting 10% of it's schedule for the winter due to ongoing problems with its Pratt & Whitney CFM engines. The airline also has three aircraft stuck in Kiev. We don't yet know if that will impact LBA and we know Wizz alters its schedule nearly as much as Ryanair so I don't think we can say just yet.

Definitely a lot going on with Wizz just now. I have my own overall thoughts about them , which are on the whole very negative about a lot of things, but because of just how negative they are (and for the record I am not in the know) under the circumstances it's best I keep those to myself. It won't however take a genius to work out what they are!

Maybe also the availability of aircraft and the preference for late evenings have caused them to cut to what they can deliver as opposed to what is optimistic - there will have been damage to Wizz locally because of the delays and diverts.....
There have been very few diverts in the last 6 months and most if what they were required from LBAs restrictions as much as Wizz Air's delays. In the winter, Wizz were landing ok in fog when others were diverting. It's their delays that cause the really bad press.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
