The suspense is just killing me................still not gone live, assuming the web site address is remaining the same?

Hmm. According to a Facebook update 2 minutes ago, 'New Leeds Bradford Airport website launches next week!!!'

What's going on?

What an incompetent bunch of shambolic clowns. Are any of us surprised?

The website and all print and media comms are under TH's juristication and control. He will decide to release it when he believes it is the right time - that time being when potentially other PR opportunites can be made to give the launch of the website the biggest amount of coverage. Does that really warrant him being labelled shambolic and a clown? Really?

Sorry but I agree with LS16 on this. What I cant understand is why people on here are so annoyed about another delay. It seems to me that some people are just so impatient.

It’s not up to us on here or as you point out frequent customers as and when the airport relaunch its website. Tony Hallwood is in chrage and he maybe delaying the launch due to some items that still need to be confirmed by airlines, operators or its adertisers.

It can be bloody hard and expensive to build and launch a new website. You've got to make sure everything is right down to the small print. The airport would have been better not telling anyone there were to prelaunch its website.

But put it this way if I was relaunching my website I would not be told what to do by people on here especially by people using words like (incompetent bunch of shambolic clowns Wawkak) . I would do it when it best suits me and my website. Simple as...

LS16

You continue to fawn over LBA,s management.
You have not got a clue or any opinions of your own and you continue to see “The Emperor's New Clothes"
Please tell me, exactly what do you contribute to LBA. Are you a frequent flyer? Do you work at the airport? Maybe armchair observer?I would love to know.
If you worked for me, you would not last very long. Continually telling the boss what he wants to hear does not help any company.
In reality, the new website is a small issue that has been blown out of all proportion. This simple project should have been addressed a long time ago, it is not rocket science is it?

Do you think the world is on standby waiting for the mighty launch of our village airport website?
Get a life.

So WAWKRK it's OK for you to have an opinion and not LS16 to seek clarification by asking you to substantiate your claim. LS16 does appear to know more about this airport and its operations than you.
However, I'll agree if it makes you happy, that these incompetent shambolic clowns only got us PIA, Ryan Air and Easy Jet and have been continuously fighting our local councils for 2 yrs or more to put into action their plans for LBA. Had they been intellegent commercial professionals, maybe like yourself, I don't know you, then who knows what we could have got by now.
A website may be a "small issue", and I'm sure a personal facebook page or someones dating website could be knocked up in a lunch break. Perhaps LBIA 's mistake was telling everyone there was going to be a new website, when they should have just launched it one day at their convenience; as all it did was get all the spotters worked up into hissy fits about its delay. I've not heard the real users, the general travelling public complain it's not up and running yet, nor have I been aware of my neighbours undergoing trauma councelling because of its delay.
I will judge the content, professionalism and ease of use of the new site, when it's up and running, and not before.

Er, 'scuse me The Pole, but the one regular girl on the forum hasn't got involved, so shouldn't you be saying 'Boys, boys, boys' ? Only kidding of course: :)

The website is supposed to be a decent aid and source of information for LBA users.
Not for the use of spotters and enthusiasts,it's supposed to be a feature of the airport business.
The travelling public do not care about the launch coinciding with some route announcements or whatever.
How anyone can defend the LBA management when after 3 years and 5 months and still no decent website.
I find that appalling.

Surely we shouldn't over react just because the web site is delayed a day or two (and that is all it will be I am sure). It is better that it is right when it is launched, rather than putting it out with errors - we have had enough of them. The website will almost certainly have been built by the airport's IT people, so any delay may well be down to them rather than the directors. After waiting for 3 years, I don't care about a few days delay, as long as it appears soon and is a good website.

Think people need to get a grip tbh. The website is the least of the problems and it is just good to know that a new website is on its way, i just hope the dep/arr pages are much better than the current! Furthermore, if it was launched in haste with bugs & errors then it would be the same people kicking off at that. There is .... no pleasing some people. Fact.

I think that some people are getting impatient with the launch of the new website because they think it is tied in with the announcement of new routes. I access the website every day for a variety of reasons and don't find a problem with it. Even if the destination is not named the flight number is, so users can find information about a flight if they are expecting someone.
I would be grateful if we could carry on with "intelligent" and "witty" postings as per usual and not get involved in petty squabbles. For information, my interest in LBA is as a user and an enthusiast.
I can remember in the late 60's, when the Arr/Dep info used plastic letters on a display board. (I hope that last comment will be accepted, not transferred to the Nostalgia thread)

Yes it has gone live in the last hour and I think looks really good, although I haven't explored yet. It is definitely marketing LBA as the airport for Yorkshire, and the aircraft on the front towing banners has one for Sheffield, so that is definitely 'having a go' at DSA.

Off now to have a closer look, but overall, I think it looks really nice.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
