Without doing further investigation the maybe others or more details to add. I just don't have time until weekend due work commitments.

I went into Tui on Lands Lane in Leeds yesterday. All deals in the window were ex Manchester. I was told there were so few flights from Leeds because Leeds didn't have the space to accommodate based aircraft. They also said that Dubrovnik had been axed for next year. I doubt the veracity of these comments but it seems thats what they are telling potential customers.

DBV on sale for S24 from LBA so not sure where the agents info has come from. LBA does indeed have no spare stands to accommodate extra based units. Over to you LBA to construct new stands if the demand is there
It's nothing to do with stands. I've said this many times before. No, LBA cannot accommodate more based aircraft, but it's the terminal capacity that is the issue, not the stands. Once the terminal has the capacity, and demand is there to base extra aircraft, they will construct the stands. It's phase 3 of the project. That is confirmed in the minutes if the last Consultative Meeting.

That said, I do not believe for one minute that TUi have been banging on Vincent Hodder's door demanding to base aircraft here. Last time they based here, they did very badly and withdrew. Operating Sunwing aircraft wasn't the reason they did badly - the reason was Jet2's dominance. Now DSA is gone, they may up their game but for now, W patterns is all they can consider.

As for their agents, in my experience from the past they say what they think is the case rather than what is factually true. They know no more about the negotiations between TUi and LBA than anyone else.

WFH this week and noticed at least yesterdays and todays flights had a significant delay taking off, CFU arrived 20 mins late so picked up some time, yesterdays DBV was late by over an hour. Is this typical TUI as not noticed delays on EXS & RYR

just to add to lbaspotters TUI schedule for summer 2024, all the flights above will be operated by a BHX based 737, however not yet sure if they will be B738's, or Max aircraft.

Tui have dropped the 2x weekly Antalya service operated by Freebird for summer 2024 and will now take seats on the the 3x weekly Sun Express schedule route instead.

Freebird still look to be operating the 2x weekly Dalaman charter service on (Mon & Thu) for summer 2024.

Meanwhile the Sunday Palma service which is an addition for summer 2024 season, now see's a 4 week period where it doesn't operate between June 23rd & July 21st. Presumably the aircraft is required up North for the Scottish (Peak) School Holidays. The airline is also still to be confirmed.

The 2nd largest UK your operator Tui will still be operating 8x weekly charter flights during the peak summer 2024 season from Leeds Bradford as follows.
.
Corfu = 1x weekly (Fri)
Dalaman = 2x weekly (Mon & Thu)

Wonder if this will see Sun Express add some extra weekly rotations

Makes me wonder if Tui are looking to get rid of Freebird altogether, as they've have got some really bad reviews.
Turkey is a long way for TUi to operate it with their own in-house airline's metal w-legging from other UK bases.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. The news items can then be shared on the site homepage by you. #TakePart #Forums4airports Bring the news to one place!
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
