There was a cheerful/grim (dependent upon point of view) weather forecast today for my part of Wurzel Land with heavy and frequent storms sometimes accompanied by thunder and lightning promised/threatened throughout the day.

It's now half past five and for the most part it's been a sunny and warm day with some dark clouds from time to time which brought a few spits of rain on a couple of occasions earlier today.

My point exactly, promises but the BBC are good at wording forecasts. "Not all places will get any rain". No comfort to me as my district is dry as the Kalahari!

On the eastern fringes of Birmingham on Tuesday, we had an hours downpour at midday, followed by thunderstorms from 4.30pm until 6.15pm. Looking at my rainfall app it was very hit & miss. Similar weather expected today.

Here just to the north of Cambridge, we had an incredible thunder storm around mid-afternoon. The thunder just seemed to be one continuous rumble. As for the rain, I swear I have never known it rain that hard. We had been forecast rain but not the storms (we had another one in the early evening, but nothing like the mid-afternoon one).

Fun and games this evening maybe, or is it overuse of the "RED" warning by the Met Office?

It appears to be blowing a hooley out there and is very cold with the odd hail shower thrown in for good measure. I still gotta walk the dog, so if it gets any worse (as predicted) then someone might not get walked tonight!

It was sleeting and as dark as dusk blowing a gale a 10am this morning here in Leeds (well the micro climate that is in Yeadon up in the gods!)

When I pick up the lead, Peggy hides under the bed, she hates going walkies, her joints can't take it anymore and she detests rain. She is a pampered Staffie!!

@Aviador that's an interesting weather update! They say Cornwall has its own micro-climate too!

@JENNYJET Benjy will insist on going out in all weathers for a walk, but funnily enough, he won't go out for essentials if the weather is horrible! He's a pure border terrier, and he can be a right old terrorist sometimes 😆

Or maybe all the political hot air spouted this week. Haha.

I love sprouts if prepared correctly. The after effects are avoidable but it comes with preparation and an additive to the water when cooking.
?? Additive ?? Are we back on the Alcohol thread?

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?

I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
