It's reported elsewhere that Emerald have taken delivery of two leased Danish Air Transport ATR72's, OY-RUN and OY- RUV, one if which will be used in the evening flights to LBA from DUB. They're here for the summer and are due here from tomorrow.

Aer Lingus have started to upload extra flights for winter 2023/2024

Dublin will now operate 3x daily on Thursday, Friday & Sundays.

Belfast city now gained 3rd daily Tuesday, Wednesday Sunday & 2x daily Sat service.

Yes it is as follows.

Belfast City = Increased from 16x to 20x weekly
Dublin = Increased 13x to 16x weekly

To be fair we also had Flybe on the Belfast City route last winter until they collapsed 2nd time around.

Too right, but sadly I just don't see Aer Lingus mainline bringing an Airbus A319/320 onto the early LBA-DUB service.

Problem been is that Ryanair dump alot a exssive capacity onto the route at the weekend during winter and all over the summer months to cater for the Irish supporting leeds Utd fans and those who just want a cheap flights to Dublin for an very expensive weekend away drinking Guinness and dancing to Irish music.

And before anyone asks, "yes I've been there, done that" raiding my bank account too many times 😆

Aer lingus’s smallest mainline aircraft is the A320ceo/neo which seats 174/186.

Tbh I think it’s probably a little too much capacity for LBA considering the 72 seat ATR isn’t always full.

I agree, but its a shame. If they are to maximise their appeal connecting passengers they need equipment that doesnt divert so often.

Yes and interestingly G-CMMK from BHD been in the hold at 13000ft for around 15 mins now. Would a jet, say E175/E190 be performing better in low viz. These will be p2p pax not connections but sure the same fate will await the AT76 from DUB. This all said are we just in negative mode because we have had a bad few days? EI must be happy with both BHD and DUB overall because they keep increasing frequency

Not sure about E175/190 but KLM have cancelled.

I think you should ignore that and put it down to the LBA arrivals and departures board having one of it's regular senior moments. It's the EA flight code I think that's got it confused all of a sudden.

Looks like it's 3 daily Saturdays and 4 daily Sundays too, so not just weekdays getting an increase. Let's see if U2 respond in any way and continue the good news!
