Does sound like U2 are being quite serious with their cut threat then. Defo 2 winners here though:
Emerald as previously mentioned
U2 themselves as I am sure there are more lucrative routes than UK mainland to BFS. That said these are a useful schedule filler due to their short block times.

Could be some interesting times ahead. And of course U2 are clearly taking LS on in the holiday market so cutting BFS-UK back may create extra capacity for the LS battle

The government are going to be happy as this helps them meet environmental targets.

The point of higher taxes is to raise money. If the motivation was about reducing demand for flying then (a) taxes rises would be higher (b) they would have explicitly linked the tax rise to a targeted reduction in flying and (c) they wouldn’t be talking up airport expansion at places like Heathrow or overruling the local council in East London with regard to expansion at LCY

That’s what they want you to think. But to quote @Aviador. Bullshit. It’s to reduce flying which is why the protest and points by Ryanair / MOL and easyJet are so right.

This will only give them a green light to extend it further. Quite frankly airlines should hold all APD collected and not give it to the idiots until they’ve backed down.

After all our Prime Minster along with all the other government owned ministers are all working in conjunction with the WEF which wants to end flying for those not in the elite club. The sooner we wake up to the fact we’ve got traitors committing treason working for the WEF/UN and not British people the better.

Notwithstanding the usual conspiracy theories, here is the reasoning behind the increases in APD as stated by HMRC.

Policy objective

This measure helps to account for the real-terms fall in APD rates given rate increases have fallen behind inflation in recent years due to differences between forecast and actual RPI.

The additional increase to the higher rates ensures that APD costs as a proportion of the hiring costs for private jets are more in line with APD on commercial airlines as a proportion of airfares. The increase to the higher rate will ensure that users of private jets continue to make a fair contribution to the public finances.

easyJet extends CDG flights! ✈️

Due to popular demand, flights with easyJet from LBA to Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) are now on sale until 1st June 2025! 🗼 After a short summer break, flights will resume on 1st September 2025!

Book now ✈️ https://bit.ly/3DG3xAe

EZY GVA starts next Saturday and I was having a look into the flights, surely this route for 6 weekly period is purely a slot sitter for easyJet?

The first outbound arrives into GVA at 22:10, nobody skiing wants to arrive that time then have a 2/3 hour transfer to the resort. Then the SAT flights switch to SUN then departs very early from GVA at 06:40.

I mean I'm sure easyJet are very aware of this. Hope it preforms the best it can but I struggle to see how. Hopefully it will come back next year with some better times.

Hi, I was born and lived in B36 for a long time - Lindale Avenue, just around the corner from Hodge Hill Comp.
I just noticed your postcode on a post.

Do you still live in the area?

49 trips undertaken last year. First done this year which was to North Wales where surprisingly the only slippery surfaces were in Conwy with the castle and it's walls closed due to the ice.
