Significantly lower isn't good for easyJet though is it? If they have to reduces prices to such an extent it will impact their bottom line.

Only lower to gain market share. Once they gained some market share easyJet would also put the prices up. It is inevitable.

New bases or new routes for whichever airline, always means lower prices. Look at Jet2 in London Gatwick.

They must account for the losses as part of the longer term strategy - gain market share etc.

It will be interesting in which direction the new owners take the airline once the deal is completed in 2027 as their current losses are unsustainable. I fear a brutal streamlining to get back to profitability, of which withdrawing from LBA and other airports under the current management is only the start. Hopefully I’m wrong.

I think you are spot on as the buyers will want a profitable airline to sell on at a great profit in 2/3 years.
