I think there is a lot of truth in the Hearsay around bmi regional. Air France/HOP to Paris makes sense as Jet2 probably won't sustain 800s on that in the longer term. But what we are forgetting here, unless I have missed something, is why are Eurowings an option as an airline to select for car parking and lounges on the LBA website? I agree though whatever the announcement it is great news

OOH goodie...I like guessing games. For the 'based' airline, I would tend to agree with BMI Regional. Get the Eastern rubber band sacked off and they can have stand 1 for their ER145.

So you'd be happy to lose another domestic route if the Saab was to leave?
I'ld leave Eastern on stand 1 and let Bmi regional have stand 3 back without too much of a problem.

If its bmi I just hope they can rebuild the once reputation that had at LBA. If they do I'm 100% certain they'll be on to a winner again with the right sized aircraft.

Not the route, just the operator. It would be far better done with a SOU based FlyBe. The Eastern is pretty much a stand blocker all weekend apart for the Sunday evening SOU.

Whilst I would be happy to have Brussels served again from LBA, I'd prefer it to be in the hands of Brussels Airlines rather than British Midland. I know beggars can't be choosers but BMI didn't exactly make a roaring success of the route whereas their predecessors, Sabena, performed excellently.

Brussels Airlines to Brussels, BMI to Frankfurt (Lufthansa permitting) and Air France/HOP to Charles de Gaulle. That would do to be going on with.

Is there any point in serving Brussels? I worked at LBA during the period Sebena and BMI served Brussels. After 9/11 the flight was only used by members of the European Parliament so there's not much point in flying there after Brexit.

You'd hope if we're getting European hub then it's at least twice daily flag carrier... Budget once a day or less very often useless for business...

Really! Surely a Brussels Airlines Codeshare + Long Haul Connections would help any Brussels service.

I also guess if it is bmi regional they will have done there home work. Eg know the numbers and if the still an existing market for them to exploit.

I anticipated somebody would say that but the Brussels "hub" is not what it once was.

I always thought stand 1 was at the Western end rather than the Eastern lol. Stand blocker or not, if these routes are to materialise then parking space would be found. Don't want to lose the SOU route so good to transfer that to a SOU based BE dash 8. More capacity and poss more pax appeal. Any which way things are starting to look promising

Were you not the one that said that they want to park 737's on stand 1?

OK ill give you that one! it was being looked at putting a B738 on stand 1 either late last year or early this year, can't remember as being to work and had sleep since then.
But I understand its gone no further than that, due to problems it would bring.

We frequently have a Jet2 733 parked on stand 1 overnight and sometimes on a turnround during the day. KLM Embraer as well while the stand 7 airbridge is unserviceable (still...). No 738s on stand 1 though.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
