Travelled out on LS231 (14/9) and returned today on LS232 from Barcelona. We used the new meet and greet parking which worked very well. Arriving at LBA at 07.15 for an 08.40 departure, we hoped to miss the morning peak and indeed at check in we did - all Jet 2 desks manned and not a single other passenger injured the check in hall! Security wa s different story - queued past Check In Hall A but to be fair every scanner was open and we waited maybe 15 minutes. As ever the flight was called at 08.00 and we were sat awaiting doors closed just before 08.30. On the return the turnaround at BCN never seems a s smooth, either slower handing agents, or a long taxi despite the inbound being early - there always seems to be something but we finally took off about 35 minutes late and arrived 10 minutes late with a very bumpy landing. The queue at passport was back to the windows of the cafe and it wa s little slower as there was an international football team many of whom were not EU citizens on board - Jet2 didn't do Landing Cards, however 45 minutes after landing we were in the car on the way home so still pretty good!

Both flights had only a handful of spare seats and given that 2 years ago there were upto 9 flights a week (now only 4) with 3 operators there must be some scope to increase capacity on this route!
**** Not a single other passenger in Check in Hall B - for some reason I can't edit the post!

Off to Altea for a few days so shall be sampling the delights of Jet2 again on Monday’s ALC. Hoping for a nice new aircraft, but they’re all probably down at STN and BHX ;-)

Heathrow – Leeds booked on the 21st Jan for a meeting next day. Back on the train on the 22nd as a consequence of the poor schedule thought.

2 days later have a day return to Newcastle so will be seeing quite a lot of BA and Heathrow that week. The Newcastle meeting is at the airport with airside access (perk of the job) so is always good to see the legacy that David Laws left behind and a possible view into the future of what LBA could become with the right will and investment.

Booked 2 week all inclusive holiday to Lanazorte with Jet2holidays from Leeds/Bradford, flying out on the 09:00, "LS219" on Saturday January 5th and according to seating plan it looks like we on a Boeing 737-800.
Also booked into "The Yorkshire Lounge" at the airport as I got a very good deal when discount was applied.

Fly back Saturday, January 19th on the Jet2 flight "LS218" which is also down to be operated by a Boeing 737-800.

Booked Leeds to Pula for the 24th of July with Jet2, looking forward to visiting Croatia as it’s something a bit different then the likes of Spain. Presumable will be flying on a 737-300, hit the jack pot in August as I travelled to Reus on the 8MG.

Just booked onto the Jet2 Leeds/Bradford to Crete Chania for a weeks summer sun holiday in Greece in late june! Booked seats and the plan shows flights operated by the Boeing 737-800.
Hopefully we'll get one of the new MG's again like we had on Saturday, where we had G-JZBL operating the LS218 from Arrecife, Saying that we had 18 year old G-JZHC on the outbound 2 weeks ago and the wasn't much difference unless you actually knew it...

The Free Resort Check-in Sold it for us this time around, hence re-booked though Jet2holidays again. It's an great service offered by Jet2 meaning you don't have to lug the baggage around onto coaches or have to wait in ques at check-in for your flight home.

All return flights, we have done GVA via AMS and DUB the last few years, but back to LHR as a much longer stop over for us, to much of a rush at AMS.

Flew out on yesterdays Ryanair flight to Alicante (fr9078) what a horrid experience it was! Gate 8 was announced and after roughly a 20 min wait our passports and boarding passes were checked and outside we went to the walk way (bus shelter as most call it).We walked up one side of it and then all the way back down the other side of it! Our aircraft still had the arriving passengers on it, so we were all left to stand outside for nearly an hour in the freezing fog (believe it was around -3) waiting for the arriving pax to leave the aircraft plus all the cleaning etc to be done! it just felt like we were cattle, older passengers were really struggling with the cold. Other Ryanair flights were not leaving at that time so why not just keep us in the terminal where it was warmer than have us all outside where it was freezing! Its just a joke of an airport but then again jokes are funny ! least im in the warmth of south east spain now lol

Not a good experience and not the way to treat customers, but you cannot just blame the airport. You can have the best airport in the world, but if the handling agent messes up (and clearly they did yesterday by trying to board an aircraft that hadn't yet discharged its passengers or been cleaned) then the outcome will always be unpleasant. As you said, you should have been kept in the terminal until it was clearly safe to board. I would think that they were trying to turn the aircraft around as quickly as possible for whatever reason. At least we know that the walkway where you were all kept captive is to be largely removed and replaced with a proper 2 storey pier with proper heated holding lounges at each gate, each with its own seating area.

Sounds like the poster was a victim of the utterly useless Swissport..I note that Ryanair have already canned them off at Stansted..They made a shambles of boarding our Ryanair last October ..Unfortunately the airport gets the blame when its nothing to do with them. But that`s how it is.I`d complain to Ryanair about how bad they are.

I had the opposite last year when the beast from the east caused our Ryanair flight to be cancelled !
The Swissport staff were excellent and re-booked us from Ema in the afternoon even though they were under extreme pressure.
Luckily the bus shelter is going as it was never fit for purpose in the winter months.

Yes it was not a very pleasant experience at all, I was able to cope with the cold but others esp the older pax were really suffering and what made me laugh was where we walked out of the terminal into the bus shelter we then walked back to down the other side!! I felt sorry for the old lady in front of me who got charged £20 for having a case that was apparently too large (non priority) and I didn’t get charged even though my case was larger and I was a non priority pax too! The swissport guy who I’m guessing it was, was very clever and up his own a*** and it was embarrassing for the lady. We had an hr wait on the aircraft for them to de ice the although I fully accept this has to be done so I am not going to moan about that lol but by this point pax were proper kicking off ie shouting down the plane. So not the best.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
