ridgeback: Thankfully the low cost airlines like jet2 allow me to by pass the huge cost of my medical insurance. paying on average £200 return to malaga, could fly out every month, and still would not bridge the extra insurance cost of moving from 28 days to 42 days cover.
One advantage of having to come back every month, is that I dont have to have a house sitter any more. Most house insurance becomes invalid if your away for more then 30 days, dont have this issue anymore.
As I am in the David Bellamy school of thought on climate change, feel it unfortunate that our BBC, which should remain neutral, bans him for his views, dont view my foot print to be an issue.

Another work trip for me with KLM last week (Trondheim, via Amsterdam). Both Leeds flights were F70 operated and seemed pretty well loaded.

Overall LBA a good experience both ways really. Busyish but not rammed going out (sunday evening), A slight wait for bags on arrival (maybe 5-10 mins) coming back (friday evening).

Forgot to post this on here but last month but I booked 3 family members on Monarchs Faro service on the 1st May, was going to book Jet2 but then took advantage of Monarch £25 off per person discount and worked out cheaper! some very good deals for next year with both Monarch & Jet2, I am glad they are flying Monarch though :good:

Also another update, just found out some friends are travelling with Ryanair to Reus on the 25th of October :)

Did LBA-LHR-ORD last month, with the TATL leg on American. Was on a Sat morning LBA flight and would guess load was around 100. Terminal transfer was straight forward.

Returned MIA-LHR-LBA on American. Sunday lunchtime flight to Leeds, load was around 90.

All in all very pleased. 4th time I've used BA from Leeds, but this was first time TATL.

Just booked LBA-JFK return for next summer, continues to get my support.

I think the flight deck crew coming to the galley and thanking each passenger for their business as they leave the aircraft is a very professional touch.

Just booked a last minute trip to Alicante with Jet2 on Tuesday 29th October to the 1st of November, we was so close to book from LPL or MAN but managed to book LBA thankfully! Good to see flights day before and after was full!

booked a flight to Tenerife 5th Nov to 8th Nov from leeds with Ryanair going out and Monarch coming back. looked at jet2 which was nearly double the price!

Just booked a flight from Leeds to Vienna via LHR next May.

Also booked a one way LHR-LBA on 4th December.

Berlin - EasyJet from Liverpool - December 13
Palma - Monarch from LBA - June 14
Malaga - Jet2 from LBA - September 14

Virgin MAN-MCO October 14. If only LBA had a flight!!

I'll prob still go form LBA 2 times next year though 1 city & 1 sun just haven't decided where yet...

Going LBA to JFK tomorrow. The bonus was that when I did online check-in for the 15.30 LBA to LHR I was able to select my seats for the JFK leg - ie almost 3 hours before I could have done from LHR so had a good choice of seats.

You'll beat the first winter storm... phew!!!

LBA-ACE & return with Jet2 in January
LBA-JFK & return with BA in June.

Also booked on the new SAS flight for August.
Outbound to CPH, on to Stockholm (by train), returning from Stockholm to LBA via CPH.
The available connections onto the inbound LBA flight were numerous and from right across Scandinavia.

I will be flying to Dublin with Ryanair and returning from Belfast with FlyBe in late January. Few days r&r for whoshotjimmi.

Sad to say that circumstances prevent me from flying/taking holidays more than every other year, so my only recent flights were the Jet2 LS217/8 to and from Arrecife last May. Nothing booked for 2014, although I would like to be able to get away around September if I can. If I do, it will be from LBA.

Just booked to Amsterdam (April) and Vienna (July) - both with KLM. Did want to try BA for Vienna, but KLM had the better timed connections (BA had a long wait in LHR on the return leg).

The first trip is Fokker 70 both ways, the second should be on the E190.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
