I've just received a Thomson themed marketing email from the airport and there is finally something about their new routes to Phuket and Goa. Unless I have missed it this is the first time that they have been promoted?

It's a start but much more is needed!

The message

If you’re thinking of heading south next winter, in search of faraway shores, read on.

From Goa’s 66-mile-long coast to Phuket’s colourful tuk tuks, you can jet off to a range of long-haul destinations form Birmingham Airport.

If it’s sunshine and sandy shores you’re after, check out Barbados’ award-winning Crane Beach – the perfect setting for a day of snoozing under palm trees. Alternatively, opt for a beach break in Jamaica or the Dominican Republic. On these Caribbean islands, turquoise waves crash to the relaxed vibes of reggae beats.

While we’ve got a lot of love for beaches, we know that there’s more to a holiday – we’re talking about getting out and exploring. Delve into one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, Chichen Itza, in Mexico. Or, if you’re holidaying in Goa, take a trip to see the iconic Taj Mahal.

If adrenaline thrills are more your thing, Florida’s giant theme parks won’t disappoint.

You’ll fly to most of these places on Thomson's state-of-the-art 787 Dreamliner, too. This next-generation jet has bigger windows, mood lighting and a lower cabin pressure, so you’ll feel more refreshed when you land.

Great to see these new Thomson destinations with some marketing. Maybe they already know that these routes will be an instant success from BHX and don't need to be promoted.

But yes I quite agree, I have heard very little from the airport or TUI about these new routes.

Can we name the 3 flags ?? Just a bit of fun but yeah direct flights to all of these places would be awesome. :)

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
