Have I missed the post as I can't see it but do Wizz bus passengers back to LBA when the flight diverts to Liverpool or other UK airports. I know the outbound flight ex Leeds is cancelled but wasn't sure what happens to an inbound flight as I'm looking to book a long weekend away later this month.

It has to bus passenger back to LBA if the flight is diverted as that is EU law. The UK follows that law until such time as the UK decides to change the law.

I believe that the airline has to get diverted passengers to their original destination, but not necessarily by bus. It's not uncommon for the diverted aircraft to position back to the original destination with the passengers aboard.

Just out of interest when an aircraft is diverted and the passengers are bussed back to LBA does the airport have a specific contract with a local bus/coach company, and if so who do they use? I guess each airport will have local companies?
Also does anyone have the rough costs of this operation returning say 200 pax from a diverted wizz flight to LPL?

Thanks for the information, it reassures me that if we get diverted because of winds, Wizz Air airbuses seem able to land in all other weather conditions, we as a family can get back to LBA without the expensive costs of making our own way.

It's the duty of the airline, not the airport to get the passengers to their original destination. It's probably more convenient for the airline to book buses that are local to the diversion airport than from near the destination airport.

I’ve looked at the CAA stats for the routes that Wizz operates.

First off, Krakow deserves a trophy. 7-8 flights per week over both airlines and the loads still seem good. Nearly 12000 pax on the route in December!

Bucharest is also doing very well. I think it can sustain more flights than 3 per week currently. About 5000 pax with a load factor of roughly 87%.

More data will be available when I have a proper analysis of it.

Interesting read. Also Jet2 get top spot
Think we would all be disappointed if our own Jet2 didn't come out in top spot. We all know of their exceptional level of service both on the ground and in the air where passengers are put first. All airlines have some sort of issues to contend with Jet2 being no exception but they do seem to try to resolve them immediately and to the customers satisfaction.

Yes. Still not making the distinction between the two Wizz Air companies.

Having said that the way Wizz Hungary treat passengers when flights are diverted is very poor and would stop me flying with them.

If I can ask, what specifically were the problem parts of the service?
Of course you can. Disinterested crew and seating moved without explanation meaning we didn't get what we paid for. Ok was minimal cost but they weren't interested when we complained post travel - which wont come as a surprise to many. Don't get me wrong, I am really glad we have the addition of Wizz at LBA but I for one don't intend on flying anywhere with them. More than happy using FR or LS though

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
