They seem to have learned from the troubles with 5 flights at a time last year. Quite a lot of the times from a consumer perspective are appalling though. Luckily Wizz don't seem to be badly affected by them

Agree that some of the flight times are not good for people wanting to go on short break holidays, either late arrivals at destination or very early starts from destination making too and from the hotel to the airport difficult. However against this if Wizz are doing well and passenger numbers continue to be good then we are thankful for having them at LBA. Rescheduling flights, yet again, to our quieter times might improve passenger loads more as I know a number of potential passengers are being put off with these timings.

That and if you look at it further there is only 4 arrivals that are truly at Risk - the 0715 arrivals. The 0745 are slightly at risk depending if we get the sun rising but I would say anything past 0800am should be okay. This depends on the sort of weather we get. But usually fog is either lifted to be within the limits by 8am or has cleared off. Of course I'm well aware last year was an exception to that rule with nearly every morning suffering fog.

Yes, but you don't need much windspeed to disperse it.

Also usually at that time fog is fog and not low cloud, so runway32 should be in use with cat3 due to no wind/still conditions. Its when the airport gets that low cloud with an easterly there are problems.

In Winter Wizz could definitely operate more Mid Morn/Early Afternoon rotations. good to see them rescheduled from really late flights. They are a lot better in the fog also.

Given Wizz are carrying record passenger numbers and have just ordered 75 new A321NEOs, they seem to be only heading upwards, not down, despite being in bother with the CAA and in Romania, and being impacted by the Pratt & Whitney engine issues.

The 'in trouble' headline in this article does not relate to the airline being in financial trouble in my view, but to being in trouble like a naughty child . Perhaps the use of that phrase is designed to start the process of making people think the airline could go under and is quite deliberate. There are journalists out there who oppose aviation and would happily sew the seeds of doubt in passengers minds if it leads to a reduction in flying

At least Wizz now seem to have claimed Ryanairs crown as most disliked airline. Here at LBA, we would be stuffed if either left for whatever reason, so let's just hope they do sort themselves out and get the media iff their back.

Record pax numbers does not necessarily equate to revenue though. Nor does having to pay EU comp and settle CCJ's bode well for finances. Don't get me wrong, I do not want anything bad to happen to Wizz, especially when they are clearly doing so well from LBA, but I also hope they are not over stretching themselves with their new A321 NEO order. Great aircraft for LBA for lots of reasons. It is just quite alarming when you get 3 fairly adverse biggies arise in a relatively short period of time

Like ryanair once were, been the most disliked airline actually seems to promote and grow the airline, strange but true! As we are aware the media love negative aviation stories!
In my opinion wizz coming to LBA is one of the best things to happen at the airport with alot of potential to expand, perfect aircraft, lots of potential new eastern europe routes inc outside the box destinations inc egypt and middle east (a321neo ideal) plus LBA Could easily be a large wizz base for the east of england, the airport has no other competition, gatwick, luton(south) liverpool (west) LBA(east)

Yes i did suspect that unless wizz air uk have a base at leeds its a no goer to egypt etc, but you never know if loads are good out of the airport then a northern base is a possibility, with all these new neos on order and with LBA loads appearing to be good they need to put their new aircraft somewhere!
Perhaps once construction begins on the terminal wizz may look at LBA, the timing is right.
