I’m posting here as I think it’s probably the most appropriate place. Reading across the LBA pages for me has been a bit frustrating lately, lots of doom and gloom and comparing to other airports. I totally get it, we are not where we should be and infrastructure should have been sorted long ago not being planned now. That said we have 4 million users, successful brands using the airport and changes in place for expansion. Yes, it is disappointing we have missed new services, yes its a shame it feels like things have stalled, but in the challenging times we are in; I don’t think we are doing too bad. I don’t have rose tinted glasses about the place, I see it for what it is; but I think positive steps are being taken and I for one look forward to how things develop

What appears on FR24 is nothing to do with the LBA arrivals though is it? These logs do not appear on the LBA arrivals.
FR24 showed something similar re Bristol Airport recently.

I believe they are Amazon road shipments for airfreight. Amazon uses the nearest airport as it's depot designations but they have 2 near Doncaster so one is designated LBA the other DSA i believe. The LBA one is only newly built.

Never thought to check the Airport website was the same ! does anyone know where FR24 gets its information from then ?
It shows aircraft on the ground at Lba that I know are based at Sherburn and several long term resident light aircraft which are based here are not shown.

So it's fair to say we have had our fair share of doom and gloom at LBA over the last 24 months or so, but is there just a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel. I say this because:
The terminal extension is on its way
Other infrastructure developments seem to be progressing, just not itemising specifically so as not to tempt fate
After all the BE uncertainty, they seem committed to LBA still, far more than our Yorkshire neighbour
T3 are employing the 145 this winter on SOU. Now this could mean there are other plans to follow for extra utilisation, but it is showing on going committment to the SOU route which could easily have been lost if no Saabs available. Of course T3s overall position may end up changing the whole dynamics of this but let's hope for a positive outcome
BA, if it happens, are seeing better load factors and we may just be going to see some A320s this winter
LS definitely remain committed to LBA as do FR
So yes there is the usual we could and should have more, but things could be a whole lot worse than they are.
Let's hope for more good news to come!

All positive stuff !
How are we fixed with KLM as we now seem to have more and more E175s so less seats available on the trips which now are back to 3 a day ?
