It’s looking good! Maybe WH may get a tour at the next ACC?
Meanwhile LBA, it’s CEO and the new terminal developments are getting a real kicking form the DSA fanatics on the Yorkshire Post Facebook page. Won’t need any salt to grit the roads in SY 😀

Did anyone else watch the Laura Kuenssberg Sunday politics show on BBC1 this morning.

If not you missed the Conservative leader Kemi Badenoc during her interview call-out the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Racheal thieves a hypocrite live on TV, seen as the Labour Government is now backing Airport expansion across the UK but she’s gone and blocked it next to her own constituency at Leeds Bradford Airport..

Well done Kemi!

While that is absolutely true we should also call out Conservative MP Robert Genrick for not growing some balls, but instead he sat on the LBA plans so a dicision never got made.

You wouldn't have a link would you so I can see Kemi?

I totally agree regards your comments about Robert Genrick, but that was the previous government and a lot has changed since then.

I’m guessing it I’ll be on the BBC IPlayer..

Links to today's interview, view from 53 minutes 40 seconds. Not a great deal about airports and LBA just passing comment.

I’d not be surprised if the Tory party don’t raise this again….Stuart Andrew is now Chief Whip and whilst even he didn’t fully back the pans he knows the history and it won’t stop them making political capital out of it….

The Labour Party have been in office for six months. Previously, The Conservative and Unionist Party were in charge for 14 years. As the old teleprompter used to say “ fourteen”
Kemi herself has been an MP for 8 (eight) years and had held the offices of “President of the Board of Trade” and also “ Secretary of State for Business and Trade “ whilst in Government - in positions where you would think she might have some influence over such matters as, say, business and/or trade.
I am no particular fan of this Labour government, but any attempt to glamourise or lionise Kemi’s recently discovered appetite for populism should be judged against her actions rather than her mealy mouthed words.
Just my opinion, of course.

Jenrick is the real culprit in the new terminal debacle. He had it in his power to allow the planning permission to go ahead but just sat on the case. His successor Gove was almost as bad because once again the issue was ducked by him by announcing a Public Inquiry. Yes Reeves is a hypocrite but she was in opposition at the time of the application with no power to decide the issue. Jenrick and Gove both had control of the levers of power but both just kicked the issue into the long grass for someone else to sort out. Little wonder the country is going to the dogs with the politicians we have. Not an ounce of flair, courage or conviction between them just lots of ideological hot air whilst the likes of LBA who want to generate growth, jobs and income just meet with the lack lustre brick wall of political cowardice and mediocrity.

Perhaps Jenrick was thinking back to his time as a student in Leeds when, no doubt, he was indoctrinated with anti LBA propaganda. So rather than sign off an already approved planning application (but one approved by one of those nasty Labour Councils), he just 'lost it' instead in the darkest depths of his in-tray.

Reeves is, undoubtedly a hypocrite although in the event of an LBA planning application in the future, she will only confirm that fact if she dares to object again after approving huge growth at the London Airports. She has, effectively, painted herself into a corner, and made things more difficult for the other 4 Leeds Labour MPs too. Would they now oppose LBA and their own Government Policy? I'm sure our useless MP for Headingley and Kirkstall is less than happy.

As for Badenoch, I wouldn't dare say what I think of her on here.

In other words there all as bad as each other, end of!
The country certainly is going to the dogs, landing back at lba last night, its like landing into some 3rd world country and im not just talking about the airport, we are decades behind most other western countries now when it comes to transport infrastructure.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?
LBA: B737-300 G-GDFK empty down to Paris at 16:15 to operate the return LS268 back to Leeds 20:00 ETA where it will then operate the delayed LS265 to Malaga 20:40ETD
LBA: Albastar B737-800 EC-MUB positioning in tommorow afternoon from Gatwick 15:45 to operate a charter to Lourdes/Tarbes on Friday afternoon 14:00 AP7721 STC
I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
