Can anyone suggest when the summer 2018 flights "outline" will be out. I am particularly interested on what might be offered to the Canaries Thursday.

Yes, I know it's 12 months off........................

As you already know Ryanair's LBA summer 2018 is not on sale yet.
Last year this summer's 2017 programme went on sale around July 19th looking at the press release on the airports. So I'ld expect an announcement shortly.

Ryanair will cut the hand luggage allowance from two to one bag on flights from November this year- unless you've paid £5 for priority boarding.
To encourage more hold luggage (how circumstances change) they are going to cut the cost of hold cases and add 5 kg to each existing price point.
Have to say have found since they only allowed the first 90 customers to take on cabin cases, has improved the speed of loading, they say the opposite has happened

I'm glad Ryanair are changing there baggage policy. Too many people take the piss taking on-board overweight bags and then the not been enouth room in the cabin to stow them in the overhead lockers. I also like the fact the increasing the allowance from 15kg to 20kg and reducing the charge to check-in.

Ryanair Summer 2018 is now showing on the website, with flights now bookable

So far it's pretty much a carbon copy of this summer. Apart form that Montpeillier is not showing anything yet but good news is that it looks like the new Warclaw route which starts in November is to be operated year round.

Also the extra (June/July/August) flights to Ibiza, Palma, Faro and Arrecife are not showing yet, But as normally happens the will likely be a few changes made to the scheduled between now and March 2018.

I'm fairly certain the has airline has an ulterior motive for cancelling flights. The thought that the airline doesn't plan for the year ahead to cover holidays is frankly unbelievable. The airline knows it can either make additional money out cancelling the flights or the economy has down-turned significantly forcing them to cut flights one or the other unless it's something I haven't thought of.

Cabin crew and pilots leaving faster than they can be replaced may also be a reason.

I've just spent 30mins on Ryanair's Facebook page reading comments of people stuck down route now. People hiring buses from the south of France to get home. The way Ryanair have handled this is shocking. How they can leave millions of their passengers up in limbo for the next 6 weeks is staggering. Yes, you can fly out on your flight this morning but then have to check your e-mails constantly while you're away to see if you're gonna get back. Then if they do cancel your return flight it's upto YOU to get home. If you're a family it's just an extra £1000 to find after the end of a week away which I'm sure we all have spare plus find extra accommodation down there. I believe the LBA-BTS last Friday was one of the first cancelled. A flight which operates 2 weekly. How do you rebook 180 people???
I'm sorry but I have no idea how to copy it but there is a really good article in the Irish Times about why this has all happened. Nothing at all to do with the weather or French ATC.
Personally I've been a massive fan of Ryanair, this year alone I've been to BTS, PSA, FUE, BVA, LIS and 6 trips to DUB. I've worked in aviation for years so know how to play their rules. I would VERY seriously look at the alternatives for any future bookings. This, and the way it's been handled at the moment, well I dread to think.

That's the thing though, if they cancel your flight they have an obligation to get you home on a SUITABLE alternative.

As an example, Flights 3 days later when there are other opportunities such as 3rd party carriers or nearby airports is not classed as a suitable alternative.

No one should be forking out £1000 on extra transport to get home. Thus is Ryanairs mess so it is their responsibility to sort it. Simples.

So, lets role play, you're in your hotel room in Bratislava now and you receive and email from FR saying that your flight to LBA tomorrow has been cancelled. They include the 0845 number for YOU to call to "rebook you on the next available service" Now, us in the know know that the next service to LBA is next Friday and of course these flights are always busy so the chance of a booking on that flight is almost zero. I've only come away for the weekend so now, which was gonna be my last day in Bratislava was gonna be lunch, strolling up to the castle, few drinkies is now a distance dream. Now, I've got to be on hold for hours to the FR call centre. Cos I, like many on here have a keen interest in aviation know that there are no other operators to LBA from BTS. I also know that FR are by far the biggest airline operating from BTS. So how do I get back to LBA? They may be able to get me back to Stansted as they have double daily flights there....on some days, but how do I get back to Leeds?

We all know that Ryanair has played the PR card exceptionally well over the years but this is an absolute disaster for them just at a time when the travelling public had started to trust them. This is something that affects every single one of their passengers, regardless of whether or not they get cancelled. However Ryanair is trying to dress this up, it is exceptionally bad management and, furthermore, they are flouting the rules by which they must abide concerning the care of their customers. Don't be fooled - this is going to cost Ryanair millions both through having to deal with passengers and compensation claims and through lost bookings in future. The publicity alone would pay for these "rescue flights" I know LS would probably have the spare aircraft and crew to operate but I'm not sure how quickly they could organise ground handling at an airport...BTS for example that they don't usually operate into? I'm sure it would be worth a go though.
Where is O'Leary anyway. I'm sure we'd all agree that if this happened to any other airline he'd be on camera within hours telling everyone his views. On routes like BTS maybe not but routes like ALC I've sure they could find some extra slots and bill them as 'rescue' flights. It would be a nice taste of the Ryanairs own medicine for Ryanair for a change.

I actually never thought I would find myself feeling sorry for Ryanair, but running a haulage company I understand too well the issues caused by hours worked in the week, month and year and what knock on problems, can be caused by delays such as ATC issues.
In addition MOL is a huge remainer and to show his support of European regulations has according to the irish Avaition Authority now going to operate under the European regulatory "Flight Time Authority" which runs its calendar from january to December, whereas Ryanair operates a holiday rosta from April to March, this has caused I am sure a lot of the problems we are now seeing.
Whilst not seeing the figures ryanair have stated they were running below 80% maintenance of flight times, a total no no and something they had to put right. Add losing 140 pilots to Norwegian airlines, they all add up to the time bomb thats now gone off.

This is all 1 major boo boo on Ryanairs part. Forward bookings will take a hit due low pax confidence in the flights operating. So that's one bill to add to the massive compensation one due to affected pax. To damage Ryanair further there seems to be a nice little war of words developing between Norwegian and Ryanair. Not good for either company. Jet2 definitely missing a trick here. It's a shame Ryanair have got themselves into this mess because I think they have come a long way in the last couple of years with with their PR etc.

All cancelled flights have just been released upto the end of October. Luckily nothing cancelled from LBA.

It makes a refreshing change for Ryanair to openly admit they have made a mess and not blame someone else. That's a great first step in restoring customer confidence. Continued uncertainty around Monarch and their short haul operation may just be another filip for Ryanair. It certainly looks increasingly likely that further tie ups and consolidations are now inevitable, just very unclear at this stage who will be with who. We have BE and T3 domestically, DY/D8 and U2 Europe to long haul. Ryanair seem to be very keen on their independence
