I wonder what happend to those Italian student flights. They occurred at other UK airports as well. I know that BRS had some in peak summer around the time of your pics for a year or two.

Ahh... those were the day's, seems like only yesterday! Seen most before in various places but some are new to me.I guess picture 18 was taken during the Harrogate International Carpet Fair week in September going on the number of aircraft parked on stands 1 and 2,usually a good week for visitors (Kosset Carpets Cessna 421 with the large picture of a kitten on the tail anyone?)And I wonder what happened to Sandra Shuttleworth?,I seem to recall she had a very nice voice on the radio

A nice pose from Stuart Owen in photo 2 when the hi vis requirement hadn't been dreamt up! Stuart eventually was promoted to Airport Authority Duty Officer, and Sandra left LBA ATC to advance her career outside aviation.

Love the caption with one photo claiming that Concorde was touching down on the runway, when in fact it is parked up on the apron with a ground handling vehicle in front of it! How many qualifications do journalists require these days? Any?

It's time for a couple of Dak photos taken in 2005 to provide a slice of recent nostalgia.

ZA947 from the BBMF is resting between displays and parked on the Multiflight East Apron on 31 July.

G-AMRA had the pleasure of performing the last ever landing on Runway 27 on 03 October and is seen here taxiing past Stand 4 on Alpha Taxiway. The Runway 27 threshold became Stands 19 and 20.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. The news items can then be shared on the site homepage by you. #TakePart #Forums4airports Bring the news to one place!
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
