I dont see why this news would have an impact on their agreement with KL.No chance of them coming to LBA in the near future reading this.View attachment 31749
But sadly, we know they are coming to LBA whether we want them or not, operating for KLM for an as yet unknown period. No surprise them pulling off SOU- CDG given easyJet have announced SOU - Paris Orly from March. No chance of them coming to LBA in the near future reading this.View attachment 31749
I'm happy for them to do well, just I'd rather them not be on our KLM service.Looks like they’re focusing more and more on their KLM ops and Charter ops.
I don’t personally rate them but want to see the business do well and if that is by the lucrative KLM contract then I hope it goes well for them
Heard a few IPS airways rumours hahaBeen a quiet few weeks on the LBA forum generally and certainly no surprise route development wise given the time of year, so let's hope there are some announcements coming soon
I regularly check the tartan army app to see if LBA appears but still nothing just yet.......
Anyway here's to a prosperous 2025 and beyond for our beloved LBA
Led to believe that any developments - if they occur - will be in the back half of this year (after July and more likely September). All related to aircraft and crew availability. Still by no means certain it will involve LBA.I regularly check the tartan army app to see if LBA appears but still nothing just yet.......
I agree here. Eastern were once an award winning regional airline that have seen their core market dwindle to next to nothing when compared to their peak. This KLM contract, which I’m led to believe is a long term one, could be their saviour. From what I gather the money is coming in now, but they really need to be able to recruit and hold on to some more highly capable people to ensure the operation runs smoothly and consumer confidence is regained/maintained. I therefore think it’s incumbent on us to support them in this venture and hope it’s a long and profitable partnership. The last thing we need is for KLM to follow other major flag carriers and abandon the regions. After all, AMS is the UK’s hub airport! The business doing well, including at LBA, means the jobs of those working there will be relatively safe which surely is more important that any personal animosity we have towards the airline.
If its a long term contract with KLM at least Eastern should operate aircraft in KLM livery. Otherwise at several airports it will seem they are a thing of the past. KLM need to he seen to be operating. Anonymous all white aircraft won't be identifiable as KLM.I agree here. I agree. It would be regarded as successful if they can operate with KLM livery and with the same operarational ability as the main KLM ops. Anything less won't be acceptable from the passenger perspective. If its a long term contract with KLM at least Eastern should operate aircraft in KLM livery. They might, but for the time being it’s Eastern livery with some aircraft having operating for KLM Cityhopper in the typical blue writing just after the door. The German operator is in abundance at AMS too. I’ve used the eastern service a few times and it’s really no different. If its a long term contract with KLM at least Eastern should operate aircraft in KLM livery. And they need to be Cat 3 Capable and kept so.If its a long term contract with KLM at least Eastern should operate aircraft in KLM livery.
