Delivery is 'Clearance Delivery' 121.80 for the passing of ATC Clearance prior to handover to the Tower 120.3 Approach remains the same but with the new frequency 133.125.

Also, if my assumption is correct to departing aircraft start off with Leeds Tower and then get passed to Delivery
, or do the go straight from Tower to a handover frequency?

After Leeds tower, I think the passenger jets get passed onto Scottish control, however the general aviation gets passed onto Leeds Radar

Departing aircraft sat on the ramp preparing for departure will call Delivery to ask for departure clearance. Once the aircraft is ready for taxi clearance they will transfer across to Tower (ground movements) Once the aircraft has become airborne it will transfer to onward frequency (Scottish or Leeds Approach usually)

Arriving aircraft will contact Leeds Approach before transferring to Tower for final approach and for taxiing to stand.

Leeds Approach is also Leeds Radar. The old radar frequency was rarely used as it was only used for Surveillance Radar Approaches (SRA) and I understand this is no longer used.

Just to clarify a couple of points Aviador made. As 'Delivery' are assistants and not controllers, they transfer the aircraft to tower as soon as the clearance is given. 'Tower' give push clearance.

Also 'Approach' isn't used at LBA, because we are referred to as 'Radar' when using the radar. If radar is closed due to sickness, etc, Scottish would transfer the aircraft straight to tower (Procedural Rated Controlers) who would issue a procedural approach clearance.

Hi all!

I'm looking for a little advice about scanners.
I have a Yupiteru MVT-7100 which has finally given up the ghost, and I'm wanting to replace it with a scanner which has similar features and is as easy to use as the MVT-7100.

I've been looking on the web at a Uniden Bearcat UBC72 XLT. I would appreciate it if anyone could advise me on this model, or indeed any other models which would be comparable to the MVT.

Yupiteru are still making scanners and I would still thoroughly recommend them having had A Yupiteru 225 for around 25 years! At around £250 that's less than a tenner a year which was great value and they're about the same price now!
