Use this prefix for new threads for Leeds Bradford Airport
I agree... let battle commence. I would rather see an expanding U2 presence to the possible detriment to LS than LS pushing out U2.

This is a ridiculous statement. Both can coexist quite happily at LBA. To say you want easyJet expansion to the detriment of Jet2 is very narrow minded considering you probably wouldn’t have easy at LBA without Jet2. And Jet2 show loyalty to airports unlike easy, and Ryanair for that matter.

And don’t even get started with the employment Jet2 have brought to the Leeds city region.

I welcome this cautious approach into Leeds and the way they are slowly establishing their name. Will be nice when they announce a new base here but let’s hope they serve the unserved routes that would do well - Egypt, Tunisia and cities.

You wait for ages then 2 announcements comes along at once! Great news yesterday regarding the easyjet flights to PMI and AGP and of course the jet2 increase!
We certainly have easyjet onboard here at LBA now but one step at a time, im sure it wont be long till ALC is announced which would benefit myself, and like many on here have mentioned if these new flights sell well then perhaps we may see some new different niche destinations which are currently not served at present to mix in with the more popular destinations.

What I am implying is that having multiple carriers spreads potential risk and increases competition which is only going to benefit the paying customer.

To be fair to @SierraHotel I don't think they have said they want detrimental things happening to LS. None of us want that. Yes the original wording could possibly have been better but I think the sentiment was the same as for us all - welcome the competition. LS have a great LBA market and a great product so should have nothing to fear. In fact it's their opportunity to turn the competition to their advantage

“We’re really pleased that easyJet is continuing to recognise that customers wanting to fly from LBA are looking to explore more and more destinations.”
Not quite when these destinations are already available from LBA, but you never know in the future they may fly to somewhere not previously served. For the moment they’re playing it safe.

with all the challenges flying in to GIB, if you felt the market was serving southern spain you would fly somewhere else - so AGP probably. there is a reason GIB only has a few routes from the UK.

When we were in our our independent travel mode we usually flew Easy when Jet2 didn't offer the destinations we were looking for, (which was most times) as they went to places the bog standard operators didn't touch. The only problem was that the bog standard operators didn't fly fly from any Northern airports or were too expensive. Easy did fly to them however but it usually meant a slog down south or, at best, MCR, whichever way you look at it, is a pain.

The fact that they are now, at least, starting to offer more from LBA is encouraging and I'm sure, will lead to a more diverse range of destinations in the future. Too late for us however but to be welcomed though.

I forgot to write that once upon a time Jet2 were very much a seat only operator with good seat only prices. However times have changed and so have Jet2 so some more competition on the seat only (which Jet2 have been ignoring in recent times) may also encourage Easy to expand their offering from LBA in future too.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
