Just got back yesterday from a 6 day university fieldtrip in Iceland. Flew out from MAN on an EasyJet A320 and returned with Icelandair to LHR due to it being the only evening flight from Iceland to the UK. Long queue at MAN T1 security during the morning rush at 4:30am but otherwise a decent experience and arriving LHR T2 was a breeze.
Keflavik Airport was very modern but is clearly beginning to feel the strain of the rapid growth in passenger numbers there (2014 3.8m, 2015 4.8m and 2016 6.8m). This rapid growth in tourism in Iceland generally as well as the continued growth of KEF as a mid-transatlantic hub got me thinking about potential services to LBA. I don't think the point-to-point tourism demand is quite there yet, but is getting close. The transatlantic hub aspect would however be highly attractive, but it remains to be seen that either Icelandair or WOW Air to consider regional airports, the smallest served being BRS in the UK (apart from ABZ and BHD dash 8 services). Unless Jet2 or Ryanair enter the scene it's unlikely we'll get a service any time soon, but if the growth continues a KEF service particularly with ICE/WOW would be a great addition for LBA.

Booked a single up to LBA from LHR (BA1344) in late June for a business meeting in town the next day.

Staying in the Queens Hotel which is a place I don’t recall ever setting foot in, in all my years living in West Yorkshire. Will take the train back to London as I’m right on top of the station though.

You may regret that hotel choice. If you can cancel and it isn't much more try the Doubletree or the Novotel.

I have certainly put many business contacts in the Queens without any negitive comments and historically used to have a room booked on a permanents basis which my children used on a week end out in Leeds.
Its alongside the station and right in the heart of the business district.
Leeds has some wonderful choices of restaurants, we had a lovely meal at "Man behind the Curtain" ( 5 minute walk from the queens) restuarant last week, but there are many many other good choices and even a Wetherspoons on the station for cheap drinks.

Just booked LHR – LBA - LHR x 3 in September using the BA “Kids Fly For Free” promotion.

Having checked my BA “My Flight Path,” LBA is now in 3rd position behind FRA and ARN as my most popular BA destinations, but at this rate will soon be number 1.

Looking at possibility of a week in Bulgaria in september witn Balkan hols

I have flights to and from Mahon coming up with Jet2 - sadly probably too soon to take advantage of the newly extended terminal area.

Flew out with KLM on the mid morning departure 18 May to Rome and back yesterday on the early evening arrival. The outward flight had 92 on board and the return flight a similar number. Baggage reclaim at LBA was very very quick. The one thing I'd say is the outbound flight was a Dutch crew who were far friendlier than the British crew on the return leg - my snack box was virtually thrown at me!

Quite a few inbound biz flights by my colleagues in June including : 1 x Jet2 from Paris, 2 x BA from Heathrow and then all 3 off to Newquay with Flybe.

I have the pleasure of BA up to Leeds on the 27th also.

Flew out to BCN with Monarch yesterday, the flight was about 70% full. Regarding the airport and the timings of the flight it was very smooth, less than 10 minutes wait for security during the afternoon peak.
However that's where the positives end. Had the flight from hell, luckily only 2 hours long thanks to being seated on a row between a group of 8 lads around my age (early 20s) who were drinking their own duty free spirits before the flight even moved off the gate. The flight attendants didn't notice this at any point and by the end of the flight they were very highly intoxicated. My partner made a comment to them about 1/3 way into the flight and they didn't take any action at all unfortunately. Overall the service by monarch was really good and for £59 return I couldn't argue with it, but the experience was totally ruined by fellow passengers and the inability by the monarch staff to stop selling them soft drinks throughout the flight which they were using as mixers for their own spirits in plain view of staff.

I have just booked a return to Southampton at the end of July for a business trip with Eastern Airways. I see it as their opportunity to prove my recent misgivings about them wrong.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
