I am booked on the Jet2 LS223/224 to & from Tenerife, in June 2015. I did intend to check out Monarch too, but they were still not on sale and I was keen to get everything sorted out. Jet2 must pinch a fair few passengers by being on sale so long before Monarch!

Booked LBA - FUE for 2 weeks today! Quite disappointed that its showing to be a 737-300 now because when I first booked it, it was a 757 on the outbound journey. How come they change so often?

It is showing a 757 on the return journey however.

Then back end of August going LBA - PMI. Both journeys showing a 757 at the minute. Which I am quite glad about! :good:

Both with Jet2 if you hadn't guessed already. :ROFLMAO:

I recently went to Zakynthos with Jet2 on the 25th June and that was scheduled to be a 737-800 however when we came to boarding, disappointingly it was downgraded to a 737-300.. however on the return we had the -800 which I was happy about.

Jet2 seem to be struggling to sell all of their seats!

Trying to stay on subject,

Does it entirely depend on popularity of the route? I thought FUE would be quite popular, the same as Zakynthos!

Like my flights to PMI there and back are both 757 because simply the route is so popular and there is a guranteed flight everyday.

Flying up to GLA this week. Have flown back down to LBA from GLA over the past few weeks (flight timings going up didn't work for me). Flights were very quiet during the Commonwealth Games, I suspect due to business travellers being put off by the lack of available accommodation in Glasgow. 22 on my flight the week before the Games started then 8 & 5 in the following weeks. Hopefully flights will be busier now things are back to normal.

Just booked on LS348 Düsseldorf to Leeds on 26th November. This ties in with a trip to Berlin that includes an outbound LHR - TXL with Germanwings and a TXL - DUS with Air Berlin. As I need to travel down to London the night before travelling to Berlin, I may be tempted to use the late southbound BA shuttle.

Just out of interest, have you used the Flybe services through Glasgow to connect to other flights to the likes of the Outer Hebrides and the Northern Isles? If so, would you recommend it?

Booked LBA-TFS in November with Monarch.

The price wasn't a problem and compared to jet2 it was about the same. When you add in what knowledge I have of jet2 and the way they operate its a no brainer for me! Monarch is my chosen airline out of LBA to the sun at the moment.

Well until they pull out that is!!

Not used any of the onward connections but the Flybe/Loganair flights all seem to cluster around the same few gates at GLA so would imagine any transfers would be pretty straightforward.

As an aside there were 13 on the flight from LBA to GLA on Weds morning.

Thanks for that Bob.

I have just booked onto the Riga - LBA flight on 05 March 2015. I wouldn't normally book so far ahead but I had a plan and went for it whilst it was cheap.

Considering my lamenting at the general lack of choice from LBA over winter, I am actually quite pleased with my results. I like to multi-centre on my trips and that shows in my bookings - my return from Dusseldorf starts with an outbound from Heathrow to Berlin and my return from Riga begins with an outbound from Gatwick to Helsinki. Interestingly, when I booked RIX - LBA, Ryanair went to great lengths to tell me about the "illegal terminal charge" levied by Riga airport.

Sadly, not all my plans had LBA in mind and I have booked a couple of flights from over the hill - those being an outbound to Bilbao and an inbound from Lisbon. Still, the use of Manchester is a means to an end and I cannot complain too much - the likelihood of Bilbao and Lisbon being added to the LBA portfolio is very slim!

hi all
just booked jet2 LBAto AGP for sept 2015 and they have come out £50 cheaper than this years.which cant be bad. :good:

I have just gone mad and booked a return to Copenhagen at the end of March. I had a cheeky few days to fill and have been studying a map. Copenhagen was high on my list anyway but the SAS sale, meaning I could book from my local airport, tipped me over the edge. Fly out Monday 23rd March and back on Friday 27th. Machinery is a Cimber Air CRJ200.

Were out next month and I see some of the return flight costs are over £200, still with the sale on and at the start of October, not the school holiday week.
Next year all except March flights have a 9.30am start instead of the 7am we booked. Do they intend to drop some of the afternoon flights next year.
The three a day flights of last year seem to have now gone for 2015.
This is what all the airlines want, lack of seats, full planes and high prices.
Both Easyjet and Ryanair bosses stated as such in their last financial summery. Both have set the bar high for business tickets and Easyjet hope for 50 % business customers in 2016 or earlier, goodbye the cheap bucket and spade price, Ryanair new business seat price, the lowest pitched at double the overall average price for last year, shows they intend to follow EJ, not compete.

Just booked LHR – LBA using my Avios points for the 21st November for 2, but only one way as need to leave Wakefield for London on the Sunday so the train wins on the return. Shame to see only 2 flights a day being operated though!

That will be my 3rd BA LHR – LBA flight in less than a year a will continue to support the route going forward.

Local press reports indicate Manchester Airport are to target The Midlands and Yorkshire to increase passenger numbers and we have little to offer to stop this happening.

I have just booked onto the late Southbound to LHR on 21st November.

Just as a matter of interest, I have also just booked a flight from Tallinn to Riga flying with Air Baltic. I am quite excited about that one as, at the moment, the flight is slated to be operated by a 737-500. Great opportunity to fly a classic bird. The main reason I felt it necessary to tell you all is that the one and only time I have flown on a -500 was from LBA-LHR with British Midland at a bleary eyed 6am on 27th December many, many years ago. Even if I'm not flying LBA, I like to find the connection somewhere....

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
