Hi Andy,

Hainan remain very interested in Manchester and are carrying out a final review in the next few weeks. We are hopeful that Hainan will start flying from Manchester next year.As you may also be aware,Cathy Pacific fly from Manchester to Hong Kong and have a significant number of onward connections throughout Asia Pacific. Thanks for your support.

Nice work Andy. The e-mail method seems to work well at getting new information out of airport CEOs I believe members of our Bristol forum have also done this with a good degree of success.

I think we can forget Hainan for this year now.its been reported via emails on this site and others that the only european new routes for 2015 will be Rome-Tel-aviv.

Seems as though Hainan is another airline that says one thing and does another as they've just confirmed new flights to Prague starting in September!

Hainan seem to announce new flights out of the blue, there might still be hope for MAN flights yet,or even a few months after the charters a scheduled service to BHX who knows.

Indeed, Prague is a strange choice. Mmmmmmmmmmmm

Is Hainan any of the Manchester airport systems (GDS)...
As its turning into a waiting games joke... 😛lums: 😛lums:

No they were said to be starting in Sep but i have read it will be 2016 now,But reading thunderchild post they are very unpriceable and just announce flights out of the blue taking everyone by supprise. Other news ive read Air India will be announce in August, but they are the same keep changing their minds at the last minute so who knows

MAN has appeared on the Hainan route map although at the moment it says no destinations available.

Shouldn't be too much longer now

Hi Andy which route map and any link? Also is it on there websites route map? 😆

Apparently Hainan have gained the rights to flights between MAN-PVG and will be shared with EDI,and are ment to be starting on 15th April 2016.But like always im not getting to excited just yet till i hear an official announcement.

The Hainan rumour just won't die down:

http://www.heraldscotland.com/news/1346 ... anchester/

Bosses at Glasgow and Edinburgh airports are competing to lure China's Hainan Airlines north of the Border.

Both are desperate to secure a direct link between Scotland and the world's fastest growing economy, but the option to fly passengers to and from China via a pick-up stop in Manchester is seen as the next best thing.

It is thought that a twice weekly flight could launch as early as next year, but Hainan has yet to commit to either Glasgow or Edinburgh.

So any news guys with Hainan or they still thinking where to put their cards ? :aggressive:
Hearald Scotland's article was smashing! 😀

Its all rumours what will be announced on friday, but at the moment im reading.
4X Weekly PEK with A330
3x Weekly PVG with B788
But we will have to wait till Friday for the Official announced.

The Hainan route has been unofficially launched!

HU7903 PEK 0145 MAN 0605
HU7904 MAN 1200 PEK 0525+1

Monday/Wednesday/Friday/Saturday with A330.

It's here at last! Starts 10th June and is now open for sale on GDS.

Interesting rumour in this article that discusses the new MAN-PEK service and suggests that Hainan's parent company might take a majority stake in MAG Airports.

Incidentally, some people are never satisfied. On that other aviation message board there are complaints about the timings of the PEK route.

The Hainan Airlines flights are now fully bookable on the airlines website. At £531 starting price, competitive pricing too!

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
