Possibly the British Air Ferries Handley Page Herald that was damp leased by Air Anglia to operate the Amsterdam route in either 1976 or 1977. One registration from memory was G-BCWE.This is the antedote to all the fabulously colourful pictures posted in the last few days.
I have no idea of registration or airline, but I think it was taken in the late 70's. I was reminded of this photo when I saw where the preceeding ones were taken.View attachment 14713
The Gardner engines in those went on forever!....and a 1962 Leeds City Transport Daimler CVG6. Not much older than G-CELE!!
How many passengers in total were carried in and out of LBA on this football 'airlift'.I recal muttering to myself I bet this will be the busiest I ever see LBA for actual scheduled traffic, still true to this day.
