OO that takes me back a bit a lot of years. I flew from LBA to, I think Alicante on an Orion wide bodied aircraft subbing for a Brittania 737. Plenty of room to spread about.,

Orion defo at LBA and didn't they have some A300s at one point? Or is that me in the same camp as @tonysmith haha!
Yes, but not at LBA. My flight was on a 737 200. Later they used 300s. Later still, they disappeared! One of many relatively short lived holiday airlines of that era. An era I wish we could have back just for the sake of variety..

I have a photo of an Orion 737 at Leeds ready to upload.

I cant do it here as I seem to have run out of 'go's'

I tried to use the LBA photo thread but same problem.

Is there another solution?

Thanks

Orion Airways Summer 1985 LBA Timetable:-

no flights were operated in Summer 1986, 1987, 1988 from LBA, & airline then merged into Britannia Airways in January 1989

The 2 ex Airbus A300s were purchased from Lufthansa for summer 1987, and were disposed off to Iberia when Britannia took them over.

Ive posted it before so I hope this link works, looks like G BHVI. Not sure about the 757.

Orion were the in house airline for Horizon Holidays. They had a shop on Briggate in Leeds right next door to Woolworths. They used to have a large model of a 737 of Orion in the window. Does anyone else of a certain age remember that?
Yes, I do. It was common back then for travel agents to have large scale models on display. I always wanted one! My Algarve holiday in 1985 was booked there through Horizon.

I thought this might be of interest the following are the operators and Years they operated on the summer Canadian flights.

Wardair B747s 1986/87 and 88 ( the DC10 visited in 1987)
Worlways L1011s and DC8s 1987
Odyssey Int B757s 1989
Nationair B757s 1990/91 and 92
Caledonian B757s 1993

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
