Thomson Airways have added extra capacity on their Palma service for Summer 2013 with a Monday evening service running from 1st July - 2nd September 2013 making it three weekly during the peak Summer months.

The service will run as follows:-

LBA-PMI:- 22:10 - 01:50 TOM3168
PMI-LBA:- 02:50 - 04:35 TOM3169

It's looking good as far as Thomson's return to LBA is concerned. Lets hope it turns into something even bigger for 2014 and into the future.

Well that wasn't something I expected Thomson to do! Maybe extra capacity during the day at least!

It must be a while since Thomson had any late night flights from LBA! I remember as a child being on one of their Tenerife flights on a late Saturday night/early Sunday morning flight which was operated by Air Europa! Must be going back at least to 04/05 season!

Great news!

Couldn't agree more.

As we move closer to 2013 the future of LBA is looking better than ever. With Ryanair and bmi regional still to announce their intentions for next year can 2012 get any better!!?

Did TOM have a flight to SSH today? Can't see anything on the LBIA departure page. Also no TFS showing for tomorrow.

No Thomson Airways don't start there winter ops from Leeds until next week. I think you need to go check the Logs & movements page as all is explained in there. See by using the following link topic163-1830.html#p36772

Flights to SSH could be under threat after the UK government raised the threat level to severe for westerners travelling to parts of Egypt.

To be honest with you the Sharm el sheikh region & all the main Red Sea coast holiday resorts in the southern regions of Egypt has been fairly quite Aviador and the good news is that its still in the green zone according to the map you have just posted on here.

The main troubles are up in the North of Egypt which is miles away and that is what happenend last time around. So I don't think Thomson's will be so quite to axing there services just yet. But it could be one to watch i suppose if it dose start to spread?

The Thomson website is now clearly showing no flights are available to Paphos (PFO) from LBA.

Looking closer it now appears the based a/c will do Mahon (MAH) on the wednesday morning Dep 0745 on a W pattern with another UK port (sorry don't know which) then returning back to LBA in the evening arr 2105. Paphos is still a destination in the drop down menu so I'm hopeful something can be accommodated.

:s_cool

Only Jet2 seem to fly to Paphos during that period.

Wednesday's rota is:

TOM3324 LBA-MAH 0745-1115
TOM7309 MAH-EMA 1215-1340
TOM7308 EMA-MAH 1510-1830
TOM3325 MAH-EMA 1930-2105

Regards

Malaga

Indeed you are correct. The Wednesday Mahon aircraft W legs with East Midlands.

LBA - MAH: 07:45-11:15
MAH - EMA: 12:15 - 13:40
EMA - MAH: 15:10 - 18:30
MAH - LBA: 19:30 - 21:05.

Hope this helps.

So have we lost Paphos as a TOM destination next year?

Could it be Thomson have either:

1. Taken a seat allocation on Jet2's twice weekly PFO flights freeing up our based 738 to operate an extra EMA-MAH flight.
2. The PFO route has been taken off sale due to poor sales.
3. LBA-PFO has sold so well there are plans a foot for the flight to be upgraded with a Manchester based 757 or 767 on a W pattern.

As always your responses are greatly Appreciated.

if you look at this link below it shows Paphos has gone and they have put on La Gomera and Paxos on the destinations.

Sorry the link isn't working for me but I have a feeling u r looking up holidays not flights? La gomera's airport is very small only large enough for ATR's operating inter island flights and Paxos doesn't even have an airfield!!

What I think you have seen are holidays to these islands where the flights will take u to nearby Tenerife (TFS) & Corfu (CFU) the passengers being transported over by boats. I have done this when visiting the greek island of Euboea in the summer of 98. We flew to Athens from Manchester using monarch airlines then got a ferry over to the island.

Yes your right there it was holidays I was looking at to see if Cyprus was still there but from that link it doesn't have Cyprus as a destination on it

Whilst on my return flight on G-OOBP last night into MAN, got talking to the captain as he seemed to do the same course as me at Loughborough and he was saying that the B738's are "booking-up well" for the Summer...

Just a bit of an update on their base this Summer.

If Thomson don't take delivery of their new Dreamliner aircraft before 1st May Sunwings will be operating the Thomson programme at LBA.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
