Use this prefix for new threads for Leeds Bradford Airport
Thomson Airways will again base one of its in-house airlines Boeing 737-800 aircraft at Leeds/Bradford for summer 2014 operating 11x weekly flights. It will also do 3x w-legs to other UK Airports during the week.

First up the bad news, It looks like they have dropped flights and holidays to both Sharm el Sheikh and Mahon while Dalaman has been reduced to 1x weekly.
The good news, Antalya has been introduced as a New route while a 2nd weekly flight to Corfu has been added as well...

Mondays
Dalaman = 10:35-16:55 / 18:05-20:40
Corfu = 22:00-03:25 / 04:25-05:55
Tuesdays
Palma = 07:25-11:05 / 20:15-22:00 (W-legs Teeside)
Wednesdays
Enfidha = 06:00-09:25 / 19:05-22:30 (W-legs East Midlands)
Thursdays
Ibiza = 06:00-09:40 / 18:40-20:20 (W-legs Teeside)
Fridays
Corfu = 06:35-12:00 / 13:00-14:30
Antalya = 15:55-22:05 / 23:05-01:30
Saturdays
Palma = 07:25-11:05 / 12:10-13:55
Rhodes = 15:30-21:40 / 22:40-01:10
Sundays
Palma = 06:00-09:40 / 10:40-12:25
Tenerife = 14:10-18:50 / 19:50-00:20

Looking at the schedule there is still room to add in yet more flights/routes at a later date as they did last year. So this maybe one to keep an eye on for now....

If Thomson don't take delivery of their new Dreamliner aircraft before 1st May Sunwings will be operating the Thomson programme at LBA.

I'm guessing this will be a temporary move by Thomson's seen as there Boeing 787 Dreamliners will not be delivered to the airline until at least mid May or even early June. This is due to the fact that Boeing have said that it will fix the first 50x aircraft that have already been delivered to airlines worldwide first before doing fixes to the aircraft that have come off the production line at Boeing's Seattle plant while the ban has been in place.

Thomson Airways have extended leases of several of their own Boeing 767-300's so to cover the Boeing 787’s long haul flights along with a Boeing 767-300 thats is been leased from Jetairfly to operate some short haul routes. Once the delayed Boeing 787 are delivered I understand that they will have to work on short haul routes for a time, so to get the crews trained up to get the flight crews hours on the type up. I don’t think the Boeing 787’s will start flying long haul until at least July. Only then can the Boeing 767-300's be reconfigured back to short haul flying, The Boeing 737-800 sent to Leeds and the leased Jetairfly Boeing 767-300 sent back to its owners.

I also understand that Thomson's had already planned to lease 3x Boeing 737-800's from Canadian airline Sunwing this summer 2013 season to operate flights from Dublin (X2) and Belfast Int'l (x1) while a Boeing 737-700 is been leased from Arkefly to operate flights from Cork.

Dont like the look of that new corfu flight to be honest not very nice times. Shame we are loosing the SSH, and MAH routes, clearly not taking as many bookings as they thought they would. Good news for MME, as they now get a PMI and IBZ, on top of others which is good for them.

Have we also lost a PMI rotation on the Monday night/ Tuesday Morning? or has it been moved? I hope TOM could add some more W patterns into LBA

Think you'll find that Palma remains operated 3x weekly. The monday evening Palma flight has been moved to a Sunday moring seen that the Sunday Enfidha service moves to a Wednesday replacing the axed Mahon flight.

I understand that Thomson's summer based leased Sunwing Airlines Boeing 737-800, C-FLZR (ex G-FDZR) is due to position into Leeds this evening at 21:20 as SWG9080.

The airport arrivals shows it as arriving from Toronto at 23:05.

Been a while since Toronto listed on arrivals board at LBA 😉

Can the 738 really make it from Toronto to LBA without stopping for fuel, I no this is abit of topic

Well according to FR24 the said B737 800 is currently at 37,000ft just north of Quebec, so it's on it's way to LBA

Tracking it now over Canada! great to see on the arrivals board, will it be in Thomson Livery or Sunwings? the picture on FR24 shows Thomson but this was back in 2012

I understand Thomson cabin crews have been dual trained. Not sure about the flight deck.

Correct there Aviador, Thomson cabin crew, Sunwing flight deck

On Tuesday on the departure board, there's TOM 324p showing to Leeds Bradford. Is this a flight to get the thomson cabin crew used to the aircraft?

Also why can't Thomson flight deck fly the aircraft cause doesnt the aircraft belongs to Thomson and is leased over to sunwings?

Yes that flight is a training flight for all the cabin crew, not sure if all the Sunwing pilots go though?

The reason I think it is Sunwing flight deck is to do with the aircraft being C reg. Same reason for why the cabin crew all need re training.

It's probably only a six hour flight with the jet stream blowing it across that Atlantic.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?
LBA: B737-300 G-GDFK empty down to Paris at 16:15 to operate the return LS268 back to Leeds 20:00 ETA where it will then operate the delayed LS265 to Malaga 20:40ETD
LBA: Albastar B737-800 EC-MUB positioning in tommorow afternoon from Gatwick 15:45 to operate a charter to Lourdes/Tarbes on Friday afternoon 14:00 AP7721 STC
I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
