Approx 1969 for me, BKS Vickers Viscount to London, then Vanguard to Guernsey.

1980 - Britannia Airways Boeing 737 200 from LBA to Ibiza, and return 10 days later as they only did flights 3 weekly then, two days per week, so all holidays were 10 or 11 nights.

My first ever flight was on Britannia Airways Boeing 737-200 from Manchester to Malaga, December 27th 1988

My first flight out of Leeds was a Thomson Holiday charter to Tenerife South in summer 1995 on the based Monarch Airlines, A320.

My first flight also on Britannia Airways 737-200 from Speke (Liverpool) to Palma ,August 1977
First flight from LBA also Britannia 737-200 to Thesalonika in May 1982

My first ever flight was Air Europe from MAN to MLA, think in Feb 1982. Think my first LBA adventure was also the Dan Air 146 to Jersey. Both seem such a long time ago.............

My first flight was in a Dan air 727 manchester to palma or ibiza mid 80s cant remember exactly as was a young un.. First time flying from Leeds was a couple of years ago jet2 757 to palma

My First flight was from Leeds to Aberdeen in Feb 1975 on Air Anglia F27 G-BCDO

First holiday flight was Leeds to Reus in Aug 1985 on Britannia B737 200 G-BGNW

And there was I thinking I was a "golden oldie". First flight was BLK-IOM on British United (CI) Airways Herald in 1966. First LBA flight was Dan Air HS748 to OST in 1975.

My first flight was LBA to IOM in 1959 or 1960 in a Silver City DC3. The following year again LBA to IOM but this time on a Sliver City Bristol 170.
I recall that the 170 was a very noisy beast. No doubt the local residents were very aware when it staggered off 28 over The Tarn. However, it was far from peaceful in the cabin where you were provided with cotton wool for your ears!
Perhaps, as a condition of the planning approval for the new terminal, local residents, especially in Menston, should be provided with a regular supply of cotton wool for their ears

My recollections of that first flight in a Bristol 170 to IOM was that it was very noisy, the feeling that something was about to fall off! My next flight was about 1962/3 from Leeds to Heathrow in a Viscount of Channel Airways (for BKS or BA) My brother and I had a day trip to London, cost £6 return -weekend fare half price youth.

It was BKS to Heathrow in 1962 but probably a HS748 then on the regular BKS flights. They were introduced to the fleet that year. We still only had runway 10/28 then which was still a bit short for a full Viscount.

This may sound as an unusual request. dose anyone have any close up / detailed shots of either Capital Airlines BAe 146-200's G-OSUN or G-OSKI?

View attachment 22991

If so they could prove very useful for me in the design detail, because as I've just purchased a made to order "17" inch model of G-OSUN from PlaneArts. Its an exclusive one of a kind model being handmade out of solid kiln dried mahogany wood, so I want to get the finer details accurately as possible. I promise to share a few pictures on here once its delivered in around 10 weeks time.

Thankyou in advance

Don't recall Dan Air ever flying the IOM route from LBA.
Do you mean British United Island Airways perhaps? BUIA did the route using Heralds. They became part of Air UK later. Then Manx did the route, and then Manx2 were the last.
Must have got mixed up its so long ago
But went somewhere on dan air 727 must have been palma??

My first commercial flight was around 1978/9 when I flew on the flight deck from Heathrow to Schipol with Nigeria Air, returning a few days later with some of the same crew.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?
LBA: B737-300 G-GDFK empty down to Paris at 16:15 to operate the return LS268 back to Leeds 20:00 ETA where it will then operate the delayed LS265 to Malaga 20:40ETD
LBA: Albastar B737-800 EC-MUB positioning in tommorow afternoon from Gatwick 15:45 to operate a charter to Lourdes/Tarbes on Friday afternoon 14:00 AP7721 STC
I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
